Sold out. All in. That’s the Good Soil. 🌱

There is no such thing as a half in half out Christian who thrives. Pastor Jimmy said it plainly Sunday — you cannot mix Good Soil and Thorny Soil and expect a harvest. It doesn’t work that way. It will be endless confusion.

Luke 5:11 — the disciples left everything to follow Jesus. Everything.

Luke 14:27 — Jesus says whoever does not carry their own cross and come after Him cannot be His disciple.

This is clearly about being intentional. About counting the cost. About deciding once and for all that Jesus gets first place — not second, not third, not whenever it’s convenient — first. Always. No exceptions.

“Be done with shallow Sunday experiences. Fall on your knees in humility. Ask Jesus to give you a soft heart that receives the seed of the Gospel and produces genuine fruit for the glory of His name.”

That’s the Good Soil invitation. It’s available to every single one of us. Choose it today. 💛

Good Soil people don't go sideways when life gets hard.
Pastor Jimmy unpacked something really powerful
Sunday — the Good Soil heart trusts God in ALL things.
Not just the easy things. Not just the comfortable things.
Facing a job loss? They trust. Dealing with a health crisis? They trust. Walking through a broken relationship? They trust. Even facing death itself? They trust - because they know the death of the body is not the end. It only starts the next chapter for the soul.
That's not toxic positivity. That's a heart so rooted in the Word that nothing can uproot it.

Good Soil doesn’t happen by accident. 🌱
It’s intentional. Planned. Purposeful. Premeditated. Pastor Jimmy said it Sunday — the Good Soil heart works hard to show the results of their salvation. They brush their teeth. They brush their hair. They brush their hearts.

They keep it clean. They keep it pure. They keep it ready.

Philippians 2:12 says work out your salvation with deep reverence and fear. Not to earn it. But to live it out. To prove you are His. To let the seed of the Word grow into something that produces a real, lasting, luscious harvest.

Relapse doesn’t mean failure. It means you’re human. 🙏

Celebrate Recovery Lesson 21 is all about Relapse — and this might be the most important lesson in the entire program. Because here’s what the enemy wants you to believe: that if you stumble, it’s over. That you’ve gone too far. That there’s no coming back.

That’s a lie.

The Good Soil heart bears fruit with perseverance — not perfection. Perseverance means you get back up. You come back to the table. You don’t let one hard moment define the whole journey.

If you’ve relapsed — in your recovery, in your faith, in your relationship with God — Wednesday night is exactly where you need to be. No judgment. No shame. Just a room full of people who get it and a God who never stopped loving you.

You know the Good Soil person when you see them. 🌱

They change the atmosphere when they walk into a room. Their joy is contagious. Their fruit is obvious. They live in blessing. They hear from God. They are who you wish you could be like.

Pastor Jimmy described them Sunday and honestly- we all know someone like that. Someone whose life is just the proof of God’s love. Unmistakable. Unshakeable. Undivided.

That’s not luck. That’s not personality. That’s a heart that has been intentionally cultivated. Sifted. Nourished. Protected.

“A person’s ability to receive God’s Word is determined by the condition of their heart.”

We’ve walked through the Hard Heart. The Rocky Heart. The Thorny Heart. And now we arrive at the one soil that actually produces a harvest.

The Good Soil.

In Part 4 of the Parable of the 4 Soils, Pastor Jimmy unpacks what it looks like to be a genuine, committed follower of Jesus — the person whose life is the proof of God’s love. The one who changes the atmosphere when they walk into a room. The one whose joy is contagious, whose fruit is obvious, and whose heart is undivided.

The Good Soil heart always puts God first. Not sometimes. Not when it’s convenient. Always. Nothing gets in the way — not terminal illness, not money problems, not a struggling marriage, not the worries of this life. Because the Good Soil person knows that God is Lord of ALL things and trusts Him completely.

This is the heart that hears the Word with honesty and holds it near and dear — and bears fruit with perseverance. Not a shallow Sunday experience. Not half in, half out. Sold out. All in. A True Follower of Christ.

Salvation is much more than attending church. Your lifestyle reveals your soil. Someone who really loves God can’t help but show it — their life will be the proof.

The question Pastor Jimmy leaves us with today: Am I good soil? Can the Word of God grow within me? Is my soil being made ready to receive from God? Am I working at sifting out the junk so I can thrive?

Three soils down. One to go. 🌱
We’ve sat with the Hard Heart. We’ve examined the Rocky Heart. We’ve been honest about the Thorny Heart. And if we’re being real — we’ve probably seen pieces of ourselves in all three.
But tomorrow Pastor Jimmy closes out the Parable of the 4 Soils with the one heart that actually produces a harvest.
The Good Soil.

The rich young ruler had everything. 💛
He could tell Jesus the price of gold and silver per ounce. He kept all the commandments. He was moral, religious, respected.
And then Jesus asked him to give it all up and follow Him.
He walked away sad. Luke 18.
That’s the thorny soil. Counting the cost of taking up the cross and deciding — that’s just too much to ask. The thorns win. The fruit never comes.
Pastor Jimmy closes out the Parable of the 4 Soils next Sunday with the one heart that actually produces a harvest — the Good Soil. After three weeks of hard questions this is the one we’ve been building toward.

Thirty years in church. Still no fruit. 🌱
That’s the thorny soil. Not because they didn’t hear enough. Not because they weren’t taught enough. But because the thorns — the distractions, the worries, the self-centered agendas — kept winning.
Pastor Jimmy said something that stuck — the thorny soil person gains no traction. Should be, could be much further along in their walk with Christ. They have all the information. They know all the scriptures. But they can’t discern God’s voice because they’re too busy listening to everything else.
Here’s the question Pastor Jimmy left us with Sunday: Am I good soil? Can the Word of God grow within me? Am I working at sifting out the junk so I can thrive?
Don’t settle for thorny soil when good soil is available to every single one of us. 💛

What are your thorns? 🌱
Pastor Jimmy asked us Sunday to get honest — really honest — about the things competing with God for first place in our lives.
Not the obviously bad stuff. The comfortable stuff. The fun stuff. The stuff that feels totally fine until you realize it’s been slowly crowding out your time with God, your intimacy with Jesus, your hunger for the Word.
I love Jesus. I also love football. I love money. I love social media. I love my plans and my opinions and my comfort and my schedule.
Jesus says — those multiple love affairs? They’re thorns. And thorns strangle the life right out of the plant.
“The worries of this life and the false appeal of wealth choke the Word and it bears no fruit.” — Mark 4:19
Examine your soil today. Ask God to show you what needs to go. 💛
