Halloween provides the chance to connect with and give to the people around us.

We want to engage our culture—not run from it or be blown around by it.

We want to put the truth and grace of Jesus on display wherever we can. We’ve decided there is a chance to do that on October 31st.

When Forgiveness Feels Unfair: a Blueprint of Forgiveness

1) Collecting the dots - take 3x5 cards and replay what happened to you, collect every moment on a card, write down the facts, for a moment you feel things again, lay it out before you to see the situation more clearly, write it out, get the pain out, confess your sins so that you may be healed

2) Connect the dots - stemming from the facts is the impact, what’s the story we tell ourselves as a result? (ie. I can’t trust people because they will hurt me), God won’t leave you here, figure out what you’ve told yourself,what reality seems to you

3) Correct the dots - you deserve freedom, you don’t deserve to feel that pain over and over again, to move forward in your life story, you have to let go, color each card red and remember that the blood of Jesus covers each offense, if God can extend forgiveness to us, we can extend forgiveness in His power, forgiveness is for your benefit, not theirs, it sets you free

How do you move forward?

Proverbs says there are three types of people:
Wise, foolish, wicked

Determine what type of person you are dealing with.

Wise - both wise and walking with the Lord - reconcile in God’s power.

Foolish - use healthy boundaries, probably not wise to trust them again

Wicked - the motive is evil and to hurt you, in these situations you pray for your enemies but create healthy boundaries and distance, you still forgive but it’s not healthy to remain in the relationship, if God works in them and you and you both get to a place of being wise, then reconciliation may be possible at that time
