Confirmation on Friday was a wonderful social justice themed Shabbat service, led by our confirmands, and included reading of the 10 Commandments portion of the Torah. Each student chose 2 causes to raise awareness and money for- please scroll through the pictures to see them!

We've been re-modeling. Food has very special significance in Jewish tradition. Whether it's latkes on Chanukah, Passover seders, or Shabbat dinners, eating is a religious act. So, we've been inspired to redecorate our sanctuary so that it is more geared to accommodate the most enjoyable aspects of Jewish culture and observance.

Trans people are maybe more visible today than ever - but there are huge efforts to paint trans identities as a fad, a newfangled trend, or a social contagion. Trans folks have ALWAYS been a part of our communities - in Judaism and in the South. And we're not going anywhere.
