DO NOT GIVE UP

"Keep on asking and it will given to you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking and it will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7)

"How did you go bankrupt?"
In a rather infamous reply by Ernest Hemingway: Two ways. Gradually then suddenly. It is also how you get out of debt. That is how you start a business, write a book, or run a marathon......and a thousand other things. Regardless of craft or career, dreams don't become reality overnight. If you reverse any success story, it generally happens two ways.....gradually then suddenly.
We love suddenly! Gradually? Not so much.

Our life is perfectly designed for the results we are getting. If we do not like who we are or where we are, don't play the victim. If we do the rright things day in and day out, God is going to show up and show off. Why do we think the reason for "keep on asking" is in the scripture?
It is to develope spiritual persistance, show trust and humility. Prayer gives us an ongoing relationship with God. He is not a vending machine.

There is a story of a young man who was sitting by the lake watching a Kingfisher do what it does. As the name suggests, few birds are better at catching fish. He counted the number of attempts it took. It took 37 tries to catch a fish, and he's the Kingfisher! How many times have we tried?
Is there a dream we've given up on?
Is there a breakthrough we've stopped believing for?
Is there a miracle we've stopped praying for?
Most of us fail for the lack of trying. When was the last time we've tried something 37 imes?times?

What if the Israialites had quit circling Jerico on day six? What if Naaman had only dipped in the Jordon six times? The short answer is... Nothing. They would have left these miracles on the table. These miracles are very different, but they happened the same way. Two ways....gradually and suddenly.
Is there a defining decision we need to make?
Is there a God sized dream we need to go after?
What are we waiting for?

"THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE...."
✝️📖✝️📖✝️
"Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

Recently a good friend of mine asked me pray for him as he went to witness to a neighbor of his. Wow! Now I have had the opportunity to witness to a number of people, but it never occurred to me to ask for prayer. Yet we are living in a time where the enemy (Satan) has blinded the hearts and minds of people. I believe it is essential I pray for each other when we have the opportunity.

Max Lucado told this cute story:
During a power outage he went into his closet to get some candles for light. The first candle did not want to go out...he was uncertain of the effectiveness of his light. Another candle said he was too busy meditating. Still another said he needed to get his life together. The last candle was a singer whose job was to encourage others. With that they broke out with the song, "This little light of mine let it shine.." Yet, none of them would come out of the closet.

Where do we stand? Uncertain of your ability? Need to get your life together? Perhaps you are too busy...? The point is this:
We have friends, neighbors, and even family that are lost without Hope. You see, God is the Alpha and Omega...the first and the last. We had no choice when we were born, not the first word. That was God's! No matter how we live we will not have the last word either.... that will be God's.
If we ask Him, God will open doors and give us the opportunity to share. Are we ready to come out of the closet, pray for each other, and share our light?

A CALL TO ANGUISH

🙏✝️🙏✝️
"Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it." (Luke 19:41)

Anguish can be spiritual pain and distress. Jesus wept because He could see what was coming because Jerusalem had not accepted Him as Messish.

Now the question for us: Do we see what is coming in the world today. There seems to be a lack of concern and seeminly a lack of compassion one to another. Now there are some great churches and in no way do I believe the apostasy in the churçh today applies to all. But let's face it, the world is making a bigger impact on the church than the church is impacting the world. In general, people do not like reproof or correction, neither do churches. The music in churches has become a show or production. Are we concerned? Somewhat, but where is the anguish, the distress, the pain we feel over the condition of this world, our country, our churches, and especially our own lives? Isaiah was a Godly man, distressed over the condition of the people. But when he saw the Lord his reply was: "I am a man of unclean lips." You can not generate this anguish on your own. It is a product of the Holy Spirit.

In 1995 the Brownsville church experienced something unusual. After a series of meetings one night a message and call was given. Over 100 people rushed to the alter, weeping, repenting of their sins, and crying out to God. As this went on, guess what happened? Revival broke out. A product of the Holy Spirit from the Anguish of the people. We all talk about revival, but it will never come until a body of people will feel the distress and pain of our condition and cry out to God.
We are basically chuch pew sitters. People will come to most meetings. But call for a prayer only meeting and only a few will show up. I believe God is ready to pour out His Spirit in these last days, He is waiting for a body of people to feel the Anguish and call out to him.

✝️ IN GOD WE TRUST ✝️

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

"In God we Trust is the official motto of the United States and the state of Florida. It was made official in 1956. But it appeared on coins in 1864 during the Civil War. Union supporters wanted to emphasize their Trust in God. And so it continues as we see it on the back of all our currency, on license plates, and federal and some state buildings. Does it have the same impact today?

The scripture tells us that our thinking and reason should be enlightened by God's Word and led by the Holy Spirit. It is God's wisdom and purposes to guide all our decisions and goals in life. But lately there has been an introduction of values opposing biblical teaching. Much debate has gone on and certain elements of the church have compromised their beliefs. All of this is on the basis of inclusion and acceptance. Now, along comes the introduction of AI...

PROVERBS tells us, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Better said is they throw off restraint....run wild. The point is if we do not hear from God we have no direction or covering. Letting AI make these decision is just one of many dangers. It can invade our privacy, learning every aspect of your life. Making the decisions for you decreases our creativity and emotional feelings. Basically, what happens is mental deterioration. But to think, as some do, that AI is the most important tool to solve the biggest challenges we face is to deny the sovereignty of God and His Word.

It is prophesied in the last days that "many will fall away from the faith", becoming subject to false doctrine. Allowing AI to make our decisions not only denies God's Soventry but threatens our relationship with God. No one wants to hear the words from God, "Depart from me, I never knew you."

Let's make it a reality in our life, "IN GOD ( AND ONLY GOD) I WILL TRUST."

GOD TREASURES OUR FAITH ✝️📖

"FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things yet unseen." (Hebrews 11:1)

Our faith pleases God and is more precious to Him than gold. Faith is not a feeling. It is not an emotion. We need to trust God to train us to walk in faith. Now I know God's ways are a mystery. But we must discern what kind of faith God has imparted to us. Is it fledging or mountain moving faith? Remember, mustard-sized faith is all we need. But faith will not grow without active, persistent use.

I do not understand why some receive miraculous healing on this side of heaven while othes do not. I refuse to believe they missed a step or lacked sufficient faith. God gifts us with faith. We must Stewart it, but God is far more gracious with us than we are with ourselves. But then, what is the point of faith in His promises? Consider, life on earth is short, and eternity is forever. If we do not receive the promise in this life. It's because the answer may be too glorious for earth to contain. In Hebrews 11:36 those heros in the Hall of Faith who died before receiving the promise...."the world was not worhy of them."

As a believer, Christ is in us, which means He has imparted a measure of faith in us. Are we responding to the promises of God? God will show us what He has given us faith for and what promises to stand on. He will also show us how to apply that faith practically to our current situation.

In the challenges and battles we face ahead. God can show us the promises for the taking. We need to reclaim the territory God has promised us. God not only treasures us for who we are, but also sees us for who we can become. Every blessing, every battle in our life is an invitation to engage with God so He can transform us and redeem our story.

Apostasy
✝️📖✝️

"A sower went out to sow his seed. Some fell by the wayside and were trampled down. Some fell on rocky ground, sprung up but quickly withered. Some were choked out by thorns. Some fell on good ground and flourished." (Luke8:5-8)

In Christ's interpretation of this parable, he is clearly affirming the possibility of a person believing in Christ, making a sincere commitment to Jesus, beginning a life of faith but later falling away. This may happen when things get tough or because one fails to resist temptation.
This is considered individual Apostasy. Spiritual rebellion, withdrawal or turning away from what what was once experienced in a relationship with Christ. But then there are those where the seed fell on good soil. They hear the word and keep it. They prosper!

One of the ways we retain the. Word is to apply it as soon as Gd shows you how.
"Be doers of the Word and not hearers only deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer he is like a man viewing his natural face in a mirror. He views himself........ Forgetting the man he was. (James 1 22-24)

✝️WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE

"For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have devine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

As Christians we tend to characterized or battles as good as evil. There is truth to this. There is a devil and demons who seek to destroy us. Not just to frustrate us but to take us out....to nullify God's plans for us and the impact and influence we would have.
But some o our battles are internal. Not over good and evil, but over what God has said about us. Deciding whether to believe what God has said, we have to realize God has appointed, chosen, and destined us for a specific purpose. Face it, we have made the team....the job is ours. This was not good luck or karma. We should not doubt what Go has spoken over us. I think that we often do more damage than the devil by not believing what God believes about us.
Our identity is a risk when we believe our worth is based on our accomplishments. If our value is connected to the ever changing situations and circumstances around us, life will be like a roller coaster. Our life is meaningful. We are significant. God fashioned us in our mother's womb, even before the pregnancy test....God was positive about us.
We must tear down those inner critic and dialogs that says: I am not enough. I don't do enough. I am not good enough. Let God speak over you.....You are enough. You are already chosen, already worthy. It is time to be confident in who God says you are and the value you bring.

CONTENMENT

"You will show me the path of life; In your presence is fullness of joy; At your right hand are pleaures forevermore." (Psalm 16:11)

Contentment is a virtue that is difficult to master. We spend the better part of our life working on things that will satisfy us. Our career, our position, making money or our favorite hobby. Then as a Christian we want to get involved. There's the choir, then you are a deacon. You join Gideons....give out bibles, mentor younger men, and support other ministries. Nothing is wrong with any of this. From our careers to all the church work. The problem is that it becomes our identity.

Now comes old age. We are retired and we can no longer to do the things we use to do. Physically we have to back away from much of the church work. We find ourself with nothing left. All the involvement we thought so important was not what God really wanted. God has always looked for that personal relationship with us.
And we must realize that nothing on earth will ever satisfy our deepest longings. We long to see God. There is every indication we will, but we won't be satisfied or content until we do.

✝️ ARE YOU READY?✝️

"But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, ...ungrateful, unholy." (2 Timothy 3:1-2)

Did you watch the celebration on the 4th in Washington DC? An all day displayed of US air power; a review of America's accomplishments; our economic power....finally, 35 minutes of fireworks that would be hard to discribe. Then we were told that the best is yet to come......
But that is not what the Bible tells us!

Perilous times are coming; "For there will be a great tribulation such has not occurred since the beginning of creation until now; nor ever will" (Matthew 24:21) And make no mistake....all the sir power and politiician's promises will not save us.

Now this may not happen for another 100 years, or it might start tomorrow. With the division we see in the country today, it may have already started. The point is we should always be ready because we know not the hour. But we are told of what to expect. As we get closer to Christ's return our trials and tribulation will increase. We are told that men's hearts will fail and the very elect will be deceived.
So, what should we do?*
Be prepared, giving ourselves over in complete devotion to Christ and His work. Continue to spread the good news and warning people of what is to come. And as always,.....
"We await the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and savior Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:13)

OUR RESPONSIBILITY
✝️📖✝️

"Make disciples of all the nations......teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28: 19-20)

Have we considered our role to play in communlcating God's truth to others? This is more of a command than a suggestion. He never wants us to keep what He teaches us to ourselves. Whether it is money, insight, or truth. There is a tremendous blessing to be gained. By opening our hearts and lives to those who need to know about the unconditional love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Jesus instructed his disciples to give away all they received from Him. He commands us to do the same.
"We are ambassadors for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20) The purpose of an ambassador is to relay the policies and decisions of their superiors to the people where they serve.

Each one of us communicates something by what we say and don't say; by what we do and fail to do. A father who never reads the Bible is telling his family he is strong enough to make his own decisions without God's input. A child who never sees his parents praying mistakingly learns that trials and tribulations can be handled without any direction from the Lord. But when children see their parents praying and reading the Bible, they learn to trust God for every detail. That God is loving and has the very best in mind for their lives.

Even when we remain silent if there is an opportunity to share...we are subtly stating something. We must honestly evaluate our responses to the Lord's commands. Do we apply what He has taught us over the years? When we know the truth are we conforming ourselves to the image of Christ?
Finally, are we communicating this truth to others?
