On May 31, Rabbi Emeritus Jack Luxemburg filled in the final letters of our new Torah, completing this extraordinary journey. The Torah is now ready for its formal dedication to our congregation.

Join us this Friday, June 5 at 6:30 PM as we dedicate our new Torah and celebrate Rabbi Luxemburg’s 50th anniversary in the rabbinate. We are honored to welcome Dr. Andrew Rehfeld, President of Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion, as our special guest speaker.

We hope you'll be part of this historic L'Dor V'Dor moment.

Wishing you a joyful and meaningful Shavuot. Join us as we celebrate together with tonight’s Shavuot service and study session, tomorrow morning’s preschool singalong, and our festival morning service featuring Yizkor.

Shavuot celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai and is a time of learning, community, and tradition. It is also customary to enjoy dairy foods on Shavuot, including favorites like cheesecake and cheese blintzes.

Looking for inspiration for your Shavuot table? Explore festive dairy recipes found at the bottom of our Shavuot webpage: https://bethami.org/jewish-life/holidays/shavuot/

For more than 20 years, the annual Brotherhood Golf Outing has brought together golf, friendship, and community in support of a meaningful cause. Last Wednesday, 44 golfers gathered at the beautiful Worthington Manor Golf Club for a fantastic day benefiting Rebuilding Together Montgomery County.

Participants enjoyed 18 holes of golf, great food, raffles, awards, and plenty of camaraderie throughout the day. Even with a few passing showers, spirits stayed high and a wonderful time was had by all.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year’s outing such a success. We are already looking forward to next year’s event! ⛳

Earlier this month, our community came together for a meaningful Tot Shabbat service celebrating the incredible teachers of Gan Ami Early Childhood at Temple Beth Ami followed by a delicious dinner catered by Gregorio's Trattoria. It was a wonderful evening filled with gratitude, connection, and appreciation for the educators who help shape our youngest learners each day.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Jody Rosenblum, Irwin Slonin, and Wendy Sherman as they begin their next chapters. Thank you for the many ways you have enriched Gan Ami and continue to enrich the Temple Beth Ami community.

Last week, we celebrated our TBAHigh seniors during a meaningful and memorable Graduation Shabbat service. Each senior shared a heartfelt “Why I Stayed” speech, reflecting on the friendships, experiences, and connections that made TBAHigh such an important part of their journey. From the bimah, they also helped lead the congregation in song, bringing energy, spirit, and a sense of pride to this special milestone moment.
We are so proud of this incredible group of seniors and grateful for the impact they have made on our community. Mazel tov to the Class of 2026 as they begin their next chapter!

TBAHigh closed out the school year with an unforgettable final night filled with celebration and a little friendly competition. We thanked this year’s Board for all of their hard work and officially installed the new Board during the traditional candle lighting ceremony. We also honored our seniors, heard their heartfelt “Why I Stayed” speeches, and celebrated the TBAHigh tradition of presenting senior t shirt blankets before gathering around the campfire to reflect on their memories and friendships.

The 7th through 11th grade students brought the energy for Color War with tug of war, lawn games, and even a cake decorating competition. Congratulations to the 11th grade for taking home the win and earning the trophy that will proudly be displayed in the Machane TBA office. Thank you for an amazing year, TBAHigh!
