Our 3rd Grade students took their first step in preparation for receiving their own Siddurim at their upcoming  Haggigat Hasefer ceremony. Rabbi Stone lead parents and children through an exploration of the Friday night service encouraging us to think about why certain prayers exist and how they play a role in our liturgy. We look forward to celebrating with our third grade families next month in this important day of their Jewish educational journeys.

Last night Rabbi Safra lit this candle to honor the Jewish lives who perished in the Shoah.

Our Board of Governors were gathered together for our monthly meeting to ensure the continued strength and success of the synagogue so it was especially poignant to be together for this symbolic lighting and to be reminded why this volunteer work is so important.

Today as we observe the flames of the candles sent to each of our homes by the Men’s Club for this day we take time to Never Forget our brothers and sisters who perished.

On Passover we live the Jewish value of “l’dor va dor” passing down our traditions from one generation to the next. This past week in our B’nai Israel Schilit ECC our youngest students had the chance to experience this first hand with our annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day! Children and their loved ones made crafts, celebrated Shabbat and enjoyed precious time together. We hope everyone, in all the generations of our community, is enjoy the Passover holiday.
