Our Summer Speaker Series was featured last week in the Washington Jewish Week.

"Instead of a professor, rabbi or scholar-in-residence, B’nai Israel Congregation welcomes community members to address the congregation on Saturday mornings every summer.

The 101-year-old Rockville synagogue’s annual summer speaker series runs from July to mid-August. On Shabbat mornings, members of the community are invited to share how they connect their experiences to their Jewish identities, followed by a kiddush lunch.

Congratulations to Rabbi Berkowitz and everyone involved in making this special part of our congregation come to life year after year!

B’nai Israel is looking for staff for our High Holiday Youth Programming!

Are you interested in a fun, temporary position for the High Holidays? Join our Youth Programming Staff for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur!
B'nai Israel has extensive youth programming for the High Holidays. We hire additional staff to work with children ages 2-7th grade and lead age-appropriate activities on both days of Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre/Yom Kippur eve, and Yom Kippur. You do not need to plan programming; materials are provided- we are looking for enthusiasm and a desire to help kids have a great High Holiday experience.

This year's dates are Saturday, September 12, Sunday, September 13, Sunday evening, September 20, and Monday, September 21. Staff hours begin 30 minutes prior to the start of programming and run until the end of traditional services. Applicants for any or all the four dates are welcome.

We are located at 6301 Montrose Road in Rockville, with easy access by car or Metro/bus.
