This Week at CCC

We are wrapping up our series on the book of Romans this Sunday with Romans 5–8 Part II. Pastor Mike will conclude our journey through Paul’s letter to the Romans as we explore some of the most powerful truths of the gospel and what it means to live in the freedom and hope found in Christ. You won’t want to miss this final week of the series. Join us Sunday at 10AM!

Have an hour to give every 8 weeks? Join our lawn mowing team! We are currently looking for one more person to help mow the small lawn on our church property. It typically takes about 45–60 minutes to complete and is a simple but meaningful way to serve and care for the space God has blessed us with.

Supporting the ministries of Community Covenant Church through giving continues to make a meaningful impact in the life of our church and community. You can give by texting, online through our website, mailing a check, or dropping it off at the church office. Thank you for your continued generosity and faithful support.

This last week, Pastor Jeff preached on Romans 5-8 and all of the things the Apostle Paul is trying to say. He reminded us that some of the greatest memory verses we get from Romans come from these chapters but warned us to remember the context of the surrounding story.

Especially Romans 8:38-39, where Paul is using the love of God to tear down any human justification for superiority and judgement of their fellow believer.

This past week, Pastor Mike continued our study on the book of Romans by quoting NT Wright, a prolific theologian, who urges his audience to remember their proper place in relation to God. We were made to be in awe of our Creator, to let God do what only God can do, and to acknowledge God's glory in all creation.

Final call for cookies! Our last Cookie Outreach of the year is happening next week, and we would love your help blessing the students and staff of Parker Whitney before they head off for summer break. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this ministry such a meaningful part of our year together.

Our sermon series through Romans continues this Sunday as Pastor Mike leads us through the second part of Romans 1–4. Join us at 10AM as we continue diving deeper into Paul’s letter and what it means for our lives today.

On May 23, we are hosting the Placer County Friends of the Library in our church foyer. We’re excited to open our doors to the community for a special book sale hosted by PCFOL. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with setup and tear down. If you are interested in helping, please contact Chrissy or Michele for more information.

This last week was our annual Family Gathering (aka our Business Meeting) where Mike reminded us that our gathering together means more than just passing budgets and welcoming new members. It's about setting aside our traditions and preferences and pursuing the way of Jesus together.

Cookies are still being accepted for our Cookie Outreach. Thank you for continuing to help us share kindness and encouragement with our community through this simple act of care.

Thank you to everyone who gave toward Big Day of Giving. Because of your generosity, we were able to exceed our goal and raise $4,075 for World Relief Sacramento. We are so grateful for the way our church continues to support and care for vulnerable families in our community.

Our Church Work Day is this Saturday. Come lend a hand as we work together to care for the beautiful property God has blessed us with. Whether you can help for an hour or the whole morning, we’d love to have you join us.

Our Annual Family Gathering and Potluck is this Sunday. During the service, we’ll celebrate what God is doing in our church, hear stories, welcome new members, vote on Leadership Team members, and approve the budget. After service, we’ll enjoy a potluck brunch together, so please bring something breakfast-themed to share if you’re able.

This last week, Pastor Mike continued leading us through the book of Romans by talking about how our understanding of salvation is directly linked to how big (or small) our Gospel message is.

We are still collecting cookies for our Cookie Outreach. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed! If you’re able to help, please bring peanut-free cookies as we continue sharing kindness with our community.

Our Meal Train is still open for a family welcoming a little one. Providing a meal is a simple and meaningful way to support them during this special season. You can sign up through the church website.

Big Day of Giving is May 7. Our goal is to raise $1,500 for World Relief Sacramento, and a generous member of our congregation has offered to match every dollar given up to $1,500. That means every gift will have double the impact as we support the work of serving refugees and vulnerable families in our community.

This Sunday, Pastor Mike will begin a new section in our Romans series as we study Romans 1–4 Part I together. We hope you’ll join us as we continue diving deeper into Paul’s letter to the church in Rome.

Our second Budget Q&A will take place after service this Sunday. This is an opportunity to ask questions, hear more about the proposed budget, and participate in the life and direction of our church family.

Our Church Work Day is May 16. Come lend a hand as we work together to care for the beautiful property God has blessed us with. You can sign up in the church foyer after service this Sunday.

Our Annual Family Gathering is May 17. During the service, we’ll celebrate what God is doing in our church, hear stories, welcome new members, vote on Leadership Team members, and approve the budget.
