We are a multi-generational, Christian church based in Rockford, Illinois.

We offer weekly worship services, discipleship programs, communities and serving opportunities for all ages. First Free Rockford is a church that was founded in 1884 by Swedish immigrants and has a long history in the Rockford community. We are members of the Evangelical Free Church of America, an association of autonomous churches united around 10 theological convictions, which forms the basis of

Our missionaries of the week are David and Christine with Ethnos 360! Please pray for sisdom for their leadership team as they plan to expand their Bible Institute into Mexico City. Praise God for Sydney's completed fundraising. Pray for her as she gets back into life and teaching here in Mexico. Lastly, please pray for their upcoming Spiritual Enrichment Week (Sept. 7-11). Please pray for safe travels and open hearts for all students attending camp.

Let's lift up our missionaries of the week in prayer! David and Shelli serve with The Mailbox Club with IFCA International. Please pray for provision for The Mailbox Club to reach three African church denominations that have reached out for help. Also, as TMC strives to engage 18 million children in 2026. Let's also pray for discernment and wisdom as we follow God's leading, and efficiency as they finish two remaining Teacher's Guides for the Venture Club.

Our Chorale and Orchestra are hosting open rehearsals this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in preparation for our upcoming Classic Worship Night. If you have ever felt the call to sing or are curious about what it is like to sing with the choir, this is the perfect time to try! Rehearsals will be held weekly.
