Moses asked God a question we all ask at some point:

“Who am I?”

But God completely shifted the focus.

The answer was never about Moses’ strength, ability, past, or failures.
The answer was about who God is.

“Moses protested, ‘If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, “The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,” they will ask me, “What is his name?” Then what should I tell them?’

God replied to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.’”
Exodus 3:13-14

So when you don’t know who you are, remember who He is: I AM.

When you think there is no way…
He is the way, the truth, and the life.

Exodus is more than a story of plagues, it shows God stepping in, speaking, and revealing who He is.

Every chapter reminds us that God is still at work, showing His presence, His patience, and His faithfulness to His people. Even when Pharaoh resisted, God was still moving with purpose.

God, this Memorial Day, we pause together to remember those we’ve lost and to thank them for their sacrifices. And we pray for those who remain, those who lost someone they loved. Give them comfort and peace today. And for the rest of us, help us to carry forward their legacy, and to never forget their names. Amen.

A reminder for anyone who needs this today 👇

One of the most powerful reminders in Exodus is that God sees. God hears. God knows.
Before freedom came, before the miracles, before the wilderness, God was aware of His people’s suffering.

Maybe you’ve been feeling overlooked, exhausted, stuck, or waiting on God to move. Exodus 3 reminds us that God is not distant from our pain. He is present in it.
