Our last day of the gathering began with worship - in true LCMS style as we communed 20,000 people in 21 minutes! Then we packed the elevator at lunch at Dave and Buster's with the WHOLE group and hit the French Quarter for a few more sights and a sweet treat at Cafe DuMonde (a few stayed back at the hotel and are not pictured here).

The gathering also attracted some protesters. A pastor friend from nearby captures how our "great cloud of witnesses" protected and encouraged our gathering youth by creating a human wall and drowning out the protestors' hateful cries with songs of praise! Check it out here:

Day four (Tuesday) was our last day of mass Bible Study, sessions, and interactive floor - with a jeapardy win -, last mass event with speaker Bethany Hamilton, and a special birthday boy!

Day three of the gathering (Monday) brought the all IL district event with floor seats for the mass events and Rend Collective concert!

20 years ago, some friends (with almost no kids) started meeting as a small group at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church . Since then, many have moved away and are now spread out over 4 states. Today, we gathered all the kids (who were here) and got to take a picture. This is the Church. This is family.
