- Study of scripture and theology of the Church that is open and engaging
- Service to the poor, specifically centering on food and shelter

Our next Film Theo begins Sunday!

Join Evan and Richard for a contemplative watch of "O Brother, Where Art Thou" (2000) a Coen Brothers film that consists of themes of baptism, sin, repentance, redemption, and transformation through a comedic, “Homeric journey” set in the 1930s American South. Also, be ready to dive into some “Delta blues”/folk theology.

We will watch in 3-segments followed by brief discussion from 6:30-7:30pm.
Part I on Sunday June 21
Part II on Tuesday June 23
Part III on Sunday June 28.

This Sunday, in addition to our usual morning service at 9:30am, we’ll gather on the lawn at 4:00 pm for our first outdoor worship service of the summer. The service will be casual, with an outdoor concert feel. Minneapolis sensation Rachel Kurtz will bring her unique brand of gospel-pop to our lawn. There will also be generous communion, Olive Branch style, with bread and sparkling juice. Bring the kids and your lawn chairs!

June marks the 1st anniversary of Pray Without Ceasing at Mount Olive. We’ll continue to gather Monday nights, 5:30-6:00 pm. Through the summer, we’ll tend to the needs and hopes of the world, as well as to our leaders and the people most vulnerable right now. In these three months, we’ll stretch into a fresh, creative rhythm of prayer:

Week 1: Healing of creation, using a large floor map of the world
Week 2: Contemplative vigil readings with sung refrains
Week 3: Musical prayer with songs you know and love
Week 4: Scripture, singing, and petitioned prayers

You are welcome to drop in at any time and invite friends.

This is the first Sunday of our summer schedule, and it's Pentecost! Come wearing red for worship. Throughout the summer, we have one morning service at 9:30 am with fellowship time following. One Sunday each month, we also will have a 4:00 pm service on the lawn with a guest musician. Outdoor services are scheduled for June 14, July 19, and August 23. We hope to see you this summer!
