Before Amarilis ever knew Jesus, she kept people at a distance. Guarded by past hurt and secluded, she believed God existed but never really knew him.

Then her daughter was diagnosed with a spinal tumor. Her instinct was to isolate again, but instead she found herself in tears, watching a pastor preach online and right there she gave her life to God.

Her circumstances haven’t changed, her daughter’s diagnosis is still what it is. But she’s changed. She’s found community, peace she can’t explain, and a life that’s no longer just about her.

Praise the Lord for being a God who comforts.

Oliviyah’s life before Christ started in a home where she knew Him but by her teens, countless things pulled her away. For years she went through extreme lows that almost took her life.

This past April, a car accident left her physically hurting and angry, feeling like God had gone silent. She attended a worship night and that was the night that something shifted inside her and she gave God full control of everything.

She’s still healing, still in pain, but she says the joy of walking through it with God is stronger than anything she felt on her own.

Before Jesus, Kathy’s life ran on anger and anxiety. Raised in a fire-and-brimstone church, faith felt like something to run from so she relied only on herself.

Then in 2015 her mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Her mom wasn’t afraid to die. She knew heaven meant no more pain and she told Kathy they’d see each other again if she put her faith in Jesus, but Kathy just wasn’t ready yet.

she was with her mom the moment she passed her away right then Kathy knew she wanted to see her again. She gave her life to Jesus, found her way back to church, and stopped carrying everything alone.

Kathy’s mother is proof that one person‘s faith can change someone else’s whole life.

Double baptism Sunday!

Before Chris and Gretchen found Christ, they were both carrying more than most people knew.

Gretchen grew up feeling directionless. She was bullied, disconnected from her parents, and blindsided by a Crohn’s diagnosis that made her question if her only purpose was to suffer.
Chris grew up in foster care, watching his dad trade everything they owned for drugs, and carrying an anger he didn’t know what to do with.

They both found their way to faith through quiet unexpected moments. For her, it was a nurse who pulled her aside on her hospital discharge day and told her she had been praying for her every night.
For him, it was watching his mom and then his dad find God. He realized, as his own life fell apart again, the anger he once carried was gone.

Today, they got baptized together. She found strength and purpose through her suffering. He found that no matter how far he strayed, God never gave up on him. And now they’re building something neither of them had growing up: a family anchored in faith.
