After seven years in formation, Deacon David Cataline will be ordained a priest by Bishop John S. Bonnici of the Diocese of Rochester on June 27, 2026. The ordination Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at Rochester’s Sacred Heart Cathedral; the Courier will livestream the ordination beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Parishioners from St. Francis & St. Clare Roman Catholic Parish and Our Lady of Peace Parish, Geneva NY will be traveling by bus to Rochester for his ordination.

With physician-assisted su***de set to be legalized in NYS this August, the Catholic Bishops of NYS have released a 2026 revised and updated edition of their teaching booklet titled “Now and at the Hour of Our Death: A Catholic Guide to End-of-Life Decision-Making”. The booklet is now also available in Spanish (“Ahora y en la Hora de Nuestra Muerte: Una guía católica para la toma de decisiones al final de la vida”). The DOR is purchasing the booklets but would welcome a free-will offering to help with the cost for shipping to parishes and to support the future efforts of the Office of Life Issues. Please use form to order hardcopies only in either language. To save on shipping cost orders may be picked up at the Diocesan Pastoral Center at 1150 Buffalo Rd., Rochester, 14624 after the notification of arrival.
