Today we begin a 30-day prayer journey for this new school year. Join us as we lift up school administration, teachers and students as they prepare to start a new school year in one week. Let's pray for wisdom and discernment as they prepare for the school year, for their health and safety throughout this coming year, and that everyone would grow in strength, knowledge, and understanding from the Lord.

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped..." (Psalm 28:7a). Like many of the psalms, Psalm 28 is a prayer for deliverance. David was facing challenging times, and he brought his difficult and challenging situation before the LORD. There are times when we feel weak, weary, discouraged, and overwhelmed. There are burdens we cannot carry in our own strength. There are battles we cannot fight on our own.

But, as he usually did, David ended with a note of trust and commitment to God singing praises to His holy name. "...Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him" (Psalm 28:7b). David’s words are true for each of us. For those who trust in the Lord, He will provide the strength to persevere and overcome. Like David, let’s sing praises to His glorious name. Proclaim, "I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Psalm 34:1).

Today, turn your eyes to the One who cares deeply for you and choose to sing a song of praise to His Name!

The deadline to register is THIS SUNDAY!

The Co-ed Volleyball League kicks off in September, playing on Monday nights through November. Games start as early as 6 PM and as late as 9 PM. All skill levels and ages are welcome, but players must be a minimum of 16 years old. For more info/to register, visit greeceassembly.org/fallball.

Sometimes we think of God as a distant destination. Whether He only comes to mind when we are in need or hurting, or we think we must say perfect prayers just to reach Him.

God is not hiding. He is not keeping His distance. He created all things, including us. He knows every measure of our being, and the beautiful reality is that the God we search for is already right here. He is closer than the air filling your lungs. Every heartbeat, every step, and every moment of existence is sustained by His immediate presence. You do not need to shout to get His attention or perform some task to earn His proximity. Today, stop striving to find a distant God. Instead, simply pause, breathe, and rest in the reality that you are completely surrounded by Him -- "in Him we live, move and have our being."
