As you prepare to celebrate this Christmas season with your families and friends, please keep in mind those in need. One way to brighten their holiday is to participate in the annual Advent Giving Tree project sponsored by St. Mark’s Social Ministry. The weekend of November 18th, there will be tables displayed in the Narthex.

Please take an ornament tag, choose a gift from the suggestions listed on the tag, attach the tag to the gift and return the gift unwrapped no later than 12:00 PM, Sunday, December 3.

Once again St. Mark’s Social Ministry will provide winter coats and boots to those desperately in need during the winter months. Our yearly Coat and Boot drive provides winter necessities to multiple people at Mission Share, St. Joseph's House of Hospitality, Mary's Place and the Greece Ecumenical Clothing Closet. We are looking for any new or gently used winter coats and boots that you would like to donate. The weekends of November 18/19 and November 25/26, please bring your generous donations to the Church Narthex and leave them in front of the Winter Coat signs.

What's good in your life today?

In yesterday's Gospel, we hear Jesus talk about the importance of acting in ways that are consistent with our faith. Take a few moments to think of something kind or helpful you can do for someone else. It can be something small. Maybe you can try to do it without the other person finding out it was you! We can take joy in knowing we made the other person happy. We can know that we glorify God when we help others. We don’t need any other recognition.

Pray for God’s help in putting others’ needs before our own.
