The Bernardine Franciscan Sisters had a fantastic time last Saturday at Alvernia University’s Homecoming & Family Weekend kicking off our Bronco or Bucks Raffle. It was a joy having the 2026 Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks right on campus — thank you to Tom Masano Ford for making it possible.
This year’s winner chooses the Bronco or $25,000 in cash. Tickets are 1 for $100 or 3 for $200.

20 years later… we decided it was time for a little revamp! ✨

Something new is taking shape behind the scenes. We’re giving the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters website a fresh new look to continue sharing our story, our ministries, and the mission that guides us.

Same mission. A fresh new look. Coming soon!

💧 100 People. $10 Each. Clean Drinking Water for a Whole School Year.
At our Mission School in Santo Tomás de Aquino Parish, on the outskirts of Santo Domingo, the water that runs from the tap isn't safe to drink. That's why the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters and school staff keep water coolers throughout the building, giving hundreds of children and teachers safe water to drink every school day.
School just started back up last week — and it costs $1,000 to keep those coolers filled for the whole year.
We need 100 people to each give $10 to cover it. That's it. That's the whole ask.

📝 Please write WATER in the memo box so we can direct your gift.
Thank you for helping these kids start the school year with something so simple, and so essential: a safe drink of water. 💙

🌿💧 The Season of Creation Begins Today!
As Bernardine Franciscan Sisters, we join Christians around the world in prayer and action to care for our Common Home.
In communion with Pope Leo XIV’s September Prayer Intention, we pray for the just and sustainable management of water, so that all may have equal access to this vital resource.
💧 Caring for water is caring for life.
🌎 Caring for Creation is part of our Franciscan mission.

A huge Thank You to the Vincentian Solidarity Office for supporting our new Solid Waste Management Program in the Santo Tomás de Aquino Parish in the Dominican Republic! The much-needed program serves 200 school children ages 5–13 and reaches nearly 1,000 parishioners through recycling activities and education in hygiene, health, and care for creation.

✨ **Celebrating 70 Years of LCWR** ✨

The Bernardine Franciscan Sisters joyfully participated in the **70th Anniversary Celebration of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR)**—a meaningful time of prayer, reflection, learning, fellowship, and renewal of our commitment to religious life and the needs of our world.

Through inspiring presentations, shared experiences, prayer, and the **Jericho Walk: A Walk of Lament and Hope**, we were reminded of the power of walking together in faith, hope, and commitment.

🙏 **70 years of walking together, serving, and being a presence of hope.**
