Seminarian Spotlight: Dillon Johnson

Please keep Dillon Johnson in your prayers as he continues his priestly formation at the Pontifical North American College in Rome.

Studying in the heart of the Church, Dillon has the unique opportunity to grow in his spiritual, intellectual, pastoral, and human formation while preparing for priestly ministry in the Diocese of Rapid City. His years of formation have been marked by a generous response to God's call and a desire to serve Christ and His Church.

A significant milestone awaits Dillon this year as he is scheduled to be ordained a transitional deacon on October 1, 2026, at the Pontifical North American College. This ordination marks an important step on his journey toward the priesthood and a deeper commitment to serving God's people.

As Dillon prepares for this momentous occasion, we invite you to join us in praying for him. May the Lord continue to bless him with wisdom, perseverance, and a joyful heart as he prepares to embrace the ministry of the diaconate and continue his journey toward priesthood.

Today we honor the Most Holy Name of Mary and venerate the name of the Mother of God. The feast was first celebrated in 1513 in Cuenca, Spain. In 1684, Pope Innocent XI included it in the General Roman Calendar. In a 2006 homily given by Benedict XVI, he reminded the faithful that Mary is our ‘Advocate.’ As such, she has maternal mindfulness of us and is attentive to our needs. As we look to Jesus as Lord of our lives, we can rest in the confidence that she, too, is with us.

The day has arrived... St. John's Church located on Dilger Ave. in Rapid City is in the process of being razed today. Bricks will be available after the weekend's Masses. They will be first come first served. We are not able to reserve them for anyone.
