Prayer to Saint Camillus - 1586 Pope Sixtus V game permission to St. Camillus and his religious to wear a large Red Cross on their habits. Not only has this Cross been the distinctive emblem of the oder through the centuries, it also served to inspire the sick and dying to sentiments of contrition and confidence. This custom of the sick wearing this small red cross became so worldwide that the Church inserted a special blessing in her ritual for them. St. Camillus, pray for us!

Today the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, joined by parishes and faithful across the country. The act of consecration takes place as part of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Join the livestream (link in the comments) this afternoon at 2pm. Watch, pray, and entrust our nation to the love of Christ's Sacred Heart.

Today, the Bishops of the United States will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Parishes and individuals around the country are encouraged to join the U.S. Catholic bishops in this historic occasion, beginning with this Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus written for the consecration.
