Weekday Devotional Series: Peace Found at His Feet

Day 3: One Voice Above Many

Reading: Psalm 46:10; Matthew 6:33

Devotional: In the complex life, Martha ran from voice to voice—demands, expectations, obligations. In the simple life, there is one voice: Jesus. The world presents a cacophony of competing voices telling you who to be and what to do. But Jesus invites you to stillness, to hear His singular voice above the noise. "Be still and know that I am God." When you make Jesus your center point, everything else orbits around Him rather than you orbiting around your agenda. This doesn't mean ignoring responsibilities, but reordering priorities. Seek first His kingdom, and everything else finds its proper place. Today, identify what voices are pulling you away from Jesus. Choose to tune your ear to the one Voice that brings peace, clarity, and truth.

Reflection: What are the loudest voices (people, media, inner expectations) that most often drown out Jesus’ voice in your life?

How can you practically “be still” today—creating space where God’s voice is the primary voice you listen to?

Weekday Devotional Series: Peace Found at His Feet

Day 2: Watering the Relationship

Reading: John 15:1-5

Devotional: Jesus declares, "Apart from me, you can do nothing." Like flowers planted in good soil but left unwatered, our spiritual lives wilt without daily cultivation. We may have invited the Son into our lives, but are we watering the relationship? Prayer is water. Worship is water. Sitting in His presence is water. Many believers experience spiritual drought not because they lack salvation, but because they've neglected communion. Your relationship with Christ requires intentional nurturing. Just as flowers need consistent watering to flourish, your soul needs regular time with Jesus to thrive. Don't mistake the big picture of salvation for the daily practice of abiding. Today, water your relationship through unhurried time in His presence.

Reflection: If your soul were like a garden, would it look well‑watered or wilted right now—and what evidence in your daily life reveals that?

Which form of “water” (prayer, worship, Scripture, silent presence) do you most neglect, and how will you intentionally practice it today?

Weekday Devotional Series: Peace Found at His Feet

Day 1: The Invitation to Simplicity

Reading: Luke 10:38-42

Devotional: Martha welcomed Jesus into her home, yet missed the opportunity to sit with Him. How often do we invite Jesus into our lives through prayer or church attendance, yet fail to give Him our full attention? The Christian life is not measured by busyness but by intimacy with Christ. Jesus simplified life's complexities into one essential pursuit: being with Him. Today, consider whether Jesus has merely received your invitation or if He truly has your attention. The peace you're seeking isn't found in accomplishing more for God, but in abiding with God. Set aside distractions and choose the "good portion" that Mary discovered—sitting at Jesus' feet, listening to His voice, receiving His peace.

Reflection: In what specific ways have you “welcomed” Jesus (church, service, prayer), yet struggled to actually sit still and give Him undivided attention?
What concrete change can you make today (time, place, habit) to choose the “good portion” of sitting at His feet rather than adding another task to your schedule?

Day 5: The Power of Jesus' Name

Reading: Philippians 2:5-11

Devotional: At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow—every circumstance, every addiction, every diagnosis, every fear. When the adversary attacks your mind, your peace, your hope, there is power in calling on the name of Jesus. Not as a magic formula, but as an acknowledgment of His authority over all things. The name of Jesus is above depression, above anxiety, above every name that can be named. Between your first "Jesus" and your last "Jesus," strength is renewed, courage is restored, and joy is replenished. Today, practice speaking the name of Jesus over every area of concern. Over your children—Jesus. Over your finances—Jesus. Over your health—Jesus. Let His name become your declaration of faith that He who conquered death can handle whatever you're facing.

Reflection: In which area of your life do you most need renewed strength, restored courage, or replenished joy right now? How will you speak Jesus’ name over that area today?

Weekday Devotional Series: Throwing Your Cares Upon the One Who Cares

Day 4: Raw and Honest Prayer

Reading: Psalm 55:1-22

Devotional: The psalmist doesn't sanitize his prayer. He brings his anguish, his fear, his sense of betrayal—all of it—before God in raw honesty. Then he declares, "Cast your burden upon the Lord; He will sustain you." Many believers struggle with prayer because they think they must use proper religious language or hide their true feelings. But God desires truth in the innermost being. He already knows your pain; He's waiting for you to trust Him enough to be vulnerable. Your tears have language. Your groans carry meaning. Come before God's throne with perfect freedom of speech—no filtering, no performing, just honest communion. Today, spend time in unedited prayer. Bring your mess, your confusion, your hurt. God can handle your honesty.

Reflection: If you prayed today with no filters and no “churchy” language, what would you actually say to God?
After reading Psalm 55, how does it encourage you that Scripture includes prayers that are restless, anguished, and unpolished? What permission does that give you in your own prayer life today?
