"The world needs dialogue," Pope Leo XIV told a world meeting for peace in Assisi Oct. 27.
In a video message he encouraged religious leaders to foster a climate in which the language of arrogance gives way to a language of peace, negotiation and understanding.
Pope Leo said prayer may seem weak but it’s the strength of the faithful.

“Let us turn to God, the giver of peace, that he may touch the hearts of those who seek war and terrorism. Let us not forget that prayer is never in vain,” he said.

YOUR BALLOT. YOUR VOICE.

As Washington voters receive their ballots for the November 3 general election, the WSCC encourages Catholics to approach voting with prayer, reflection, and a well-formed conscience.

Our faith calls us to consider more than our individual interests. Catholic Social Doctrine invites us to uphold human dignity, care for our neighbors, and work toward the common good—especially for those who are poor and vulnerable.

Take time to prayerfully consider the choices before you.

📆 Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Everyone needs special prayers at important moments in their lives. Today Pope Leo needs our prayers. Please pray for him as he undergoes surgery on his lung. Pray also for his doctors and all who will care for him. Then pray for his complete recovery to good health.
