Join us for Worship! • 9 AM (Traditional) + 11 AM (Contemporary) •

We resume our sermon series on Revelation this Sunday. The violent imagery in this book of the Bible has been used to lead many astray. Jesus upsets expectations by coming into this world as the Prince of Peace.

🖤 Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States. We celebrate this day together when the last enslaved Black Americans were finally freed 161 years ago today.

❤️ As United Methodists, we condemn racism and hold fast to our belief in the inherent worth, dignity, and equality of all people.

💛 We are called to educate ourselves on the root causes and manifestations of racism and prejudice, to love others as God loves us, and to seek to overcome social division in all ways.

💚 Happy Freedom Day, to all! Prayer quoted from the The United Methodist Church

⚠️ Fruitland to Pioneer will be closed at our street block for the next two months. If you usually come to church by that route, plan for a little detour. 🤗

🚧 LONG-TERM ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧
Beginning June 17, S Fruitland Avenue between Pioneer Avenue and 7th Ave SW will be closed for approximately two months as part of a sewer line extension project.

This closure is necessary to allow crews to safely complete critical infrastructure improvements that will enhance the reliability and capacity of the City's sewer system.

📍 Location: S Fruitland Ave between Pioneer Ave and 7th Ave SW
📅 Start Date: June 17
⏳ Duration: Approximately 2 months
⚠️ Closure Type: Long-term road closure

Drivers should plan ahead, expect delays, and use alternate routes during construction. Access for local residents and businesses will be maintained as much as possible throughout the project.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these important improvements for our community.

❤️ Our United Methodist Social Principles are a statement of beliefs about how we think the world should be according to our faith in God and what Jesus teaches us.

🧡 They talk about everything from climate change to responsible consumerism, from criminal justice to civil disobedience, from health care to war and military service.

💛 They have grown out of a long history of not just having faith, but of acting out our faith.

💚 To read the full document, visit bio.site/puyallupumc. It’s not a light read, at almost 40 pages, but we think it’s important to read at least once in your faith journey.

💙 May they help you to love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously.

🤍 The United Methodist Church has a long history of social justice work. Unfortunately, the act of loving our neighbor often puts us at odds with empire and its love of power and money at the expense of those deemed less than worthy.

🤍 Check out Deacon Laura’s message on our church’s long history of justice work and our United Methodist Social Principles stemming from our belief and understanding of how we think the world should be according to our faith in God.

🤍 You can find it online at www.puyallupumc.org/services in the worship service recordings from 6/14/26.

How does the patriarchal culture in the evangelical church tie into the present Christian nationalist quest to deprive women of their basic rights? Check out this important opportunity happening at one of our ecumenical partner churches this Sunday.

The Social Justice Team (SJT) invites you to a viewing of the documentary, For Our Daughters after worship this Sunday, June 14, from 12:00-1:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. A simple lunch will be provided. This documentary highlights how a culture of submission and sexual abuse in the evangelical church ties directly to the Christian nationalist quest to deprive American women of basic rights. This movie deals with the sensitive subject matter of sexual abuse and is not intended for children. Nursery care and childcare for K-6th grade will be provided during the event. The SJT highly recommends youth be high school age to attend. This documentary speaks to both women and men of faith and encourages them to use their voices and to ensure that every daughter will have the same rights to health and happiness guaranteed to all Americans.
