Ordinary Time began the Monday after Pentecost! 🔥 But this is the first Sunday that clergy wear green, because last week was Trinity Sunday, when clergy typically wear white or gold.
🤍💛💚

This is Episode 3 of “Rev. Barbie’s Clergy Closet,” where we talk about why Episcopal priests wear the things they wear. 🌲✨

Rev. Barbie is the inspiration of the Rev. Julie Blake Fisher from the Diocese of Ohio . The Rev. Canon Dena Cleaver-Bartholomew, of the Diocese of Rhode Island, is Rev. Barbie’s guardian. You can read and watch more Rev. Barbie lore on our Substack, “Dear Rhode Island Church.” (🔗 in bio)

Happy Pride from the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island (and, in the case of this unscripted video, specifically from Bishop W. Nicholas Knisely, members of Diocesan staff, and clergy and lay volunteers from churches throughout RI). We love you.

These houses of worship are older than America. How they outlasted wars, schisms and lawsuits.

The Most Revd and Rt Hon Stephen Cottrell, the Archbishop of York and Primate of England, attended and preached at an Evensong at Christ Church, Westerly this past Saturday on the eve of Pentecost. The evening was coordinated with the Compass Rose Society, a funding body that supports the life of the Anglican Communion.

We’re grateful for Archbishop Stephen’s visit to our Diocese and for his reminder that, in Christ, we all belong to one another.

Once again the Diocese will be hosting a booth at RI Pridefest (Saturday, June 20) and we need your help to ensure the continued vibrancy of this ministry. The Pride Task Force is looking for volunteers to help with staffing the booth, passing out giveaways, organizing the prayer beads station (always a crowd pleaser), and being available for conversation with festival goers. We also need help with set up and take down. If you are interested in sharing in this ministry please fill out this form (https://forms.gle/5zG8vzc5P4JYGdZv5). If you have questions or would like more information please contact The Rev'd Dante A. Tavolaro at [email protected].
