Gratitude and treats!

A different kind of post! The Casavant team is completeing their 6th week with us - hard to believe! And they have worked so hard and made such progress on this monumental project! We are grateful to Fabien, Marco, Sylvain, Martin, Mario, Marc-Antoinne, and Ann-Charlotte for all their careful and dedicated work on our organ here at Grace. Still in the weeds – but seeing the light!

Well, friends - we are still in the weeds! So much is happening every day - and the Casavant crews have been working so hard. Our first crew has now gone back to Casavant and crew #2 is here taking up the work. Much structural work is still happening, though much of it is done. The platforming and structure for the new Gallery Solo division is in place, the wall between the Chancel Swell and Solo has been shifted, and miles of windline (painted Casavant's signature green) have been repaired and releathered to be airtight....

Hi folks! I'm back after a brief break - in Providence for a day to check on progress. Much structural work continues in the Gallery organ case, and the new Solo division - high atop the main case - is taking shape! I was able to climb all the way up using the new secure ladders - a welcome change! This new division will feature the Westminster Trumpet, a polished copper, hooded reed that will become a signature voice of the organ....

Tedious but necessary!

Hi friends - sorry for the silence this week. I've been away at Choir Camp with our Grace Church Choristers - a wonderful week at Incarnation Center in Ivoryton, CT. The Choristers worked on music of Britten, Gibbons, Smith, Rose, Aston, and Boyle, as well as having daily Morning and Evening Prayer, and swimming, and water sliding, and playing Co****le, and doing a 1000 piece jigsaw, and playing bingo, making smores around a campfire, and on and on ....
