Get to know one of our newest Pastoral Residents, Frankie Cruz!

We met Frankie Cruz through Don George, both of whom were students at Grimké Seminary at the time. Frankie is from Detroit where he and his wife Grace and their five girls live. Frankie knows the streets of the inner city well and is eager to serve with Christian Michael in Dorchester.

Frankie will be a Pastoral Resident in our Haynes School of Ministry as he prepares for what we hope will be many years of fruitful ministry for the sake of Christ and his church.

The Dorchester church plant is in its early stage of building relationships in the neighborhood, raising funds, and doing the careful work of listening, learning, and loving this historic community. We're grateful for Frankie and his heart for the inner city!

Every summer, NEU partners with churches to strengthen local ministry across New England. Harvest Community Church from Chicagoland recently continued that mission, serving alongside Iglesia Cristiana Centrados en el Evangelio (ICCE) for the fifth year!

This year's highlight was seeing ICCE's young adults step into VBS leadership after months of planning and mentoring; a beautiful picture of discipleship and multiplication. Please join us in praying for the children who attended VBS, especially those who heard the gospel for the first time and responded in faith!

Earlier this summer, our interns and several staff members traveled to New Haven, CT, to serve alongside NEU pastor Chip Anderson at his church's annual community BBQ outreach.

Each Wednesday throughout July and August, Chip and his church open their doors to neighbors for a meal, conversation, and the hope of the gospel.

This summer marks the 13th year of this faithful ministry, and it was a joy to come alongside them and be part of what God is doing in their community.

Earlier this year, we officially welcomed Redemption Hill as an adopted church in the New England Urban Church Planting family!

Since 2011, Redemption Hill has faithfully shared the hope of the gospel and served its city with compassion. We're grateful for this partnership and excited to see what God continues to do through their ministry.

Northside Church has been in Providence this past week helping Faith Community Church and Dexley Dorcely reach their neighborhood with the gospel through VBS. Our interns served this team and FCC all week long.

We praise God for Pastor Dexley and for his vision to reach an easily overlooked community!

We're excited to welcome Ava, Brice, and Joseph as they spend the next several weeks interning and learning what gospel-centered ministry looks like in the heart of the city!

This summer, they'll serve alongside our church partners and visiting teams while growing through discipleship, outreach, and hands-on ministry experiences.

Please join us in praying for them as they learn, serve, and grow throughout their internship!
