All of the pieces were created by kids living in Agua Prieta, Mexico and Douglas, Arizona on the themes of libertad (freedom) and "que la paz prevalezca en la tierra" (may peace prevail on earth). The Southminster Youth Group will be selling giant homemade Rice Krispy Treats as well as water, Gatorade, and sodas as a fundraiser for their Mission Trip to Little Rock, Arkansas!

The Youth will be selling on Friday, June 5th from 6 pm -10 pm, Saturday, June 6th from 11 am to 10 pm, and Sunday, June 7th from 12 pm to 6 pm! Come say hello, buy some delicious treats, and enjoy Old Shawnee Days 2026! We will be accepting cash or Venmo for your purchases.

The Youth Group made nearly 40 individual meals for Hillcrest Transitional Housing tonight at our last Youth Group meeting of the year for delivery this week. Special thanks to Kate Shoemaker ("just measure with your heart") and Pam Lanza for all of their help tonight. Meals included baked ziti, mashed potatoes, and chocolate chip cookies!

“The trauma is significant, but the transformation is phenomenal.”

On Sunday, Troy Snyder shared about the work that happens at May’s Red Table partner: Kids TLC. Kid’s TLC provides resources and support to children and families experiencing mental and behavioral health challenges, developmental trauma, and autism. We are collecting bubbles, spray sunscreen, swim goggles, kites, yard games, sidewalk chalk, and poster board for their summer programs. Donations can be placed on the Red Table during the month of May.
