Join us TOMORROW for Old Mission’s Juneteenth Celebration! We will worship at one service at 10 am with a potluck picnic to follow. Bring a friend and a dish to share because now is the time to keep on celebrating!

Juneteenth is June 19 - a holiday to mark the day in 1865 that the enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas finally received word of their freedom. Two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, these beloved children of God were finally free! This freedom is the reason we celebrate!

This service was designed by Old Mission Pastors and staff, plus a deeply talented and diverse group of voices from our church family. Worship will be led by Oleta Adams-Cushon, John Cushon, and wonderful musical guests. Our prayer is that this service will be a blessing for all those who attend. All are welcome!

In the words of Fannie Lou Hamer, "Nobody's free until everybody's free. " This timely message of freedom is one of beauty and rest. Jesus came to show us a life of freedom and we are ready to live into it as a community of faith.

You're invited to a Juneteenth worship celebration with Old Mission and friends. Experience the sound, look and feel of freedom for all. Join us for our 4th annual Juneteenth community event with music led by Oleta Adams with special guests, John Cushon (drums), Angela Ward (piano) and James Ward (bass) and Isaac Cates on vocals, as well as the Juneteenth Celebration choir led by Oleta Adams.

After worship, join us on the lawn for a family style potluck picnic. Bring a side dish or dessert and a chair. All are welcome.
