Two volunteers who are daughters of WWII Veterans have again planted the memorial garden in the cemetery in memory of their dads and of all Veterans of all our Nations wars throughout history; those who gave all in service and all others as well.

Lest We Forget

As Memorial Day Weekend 2026 approaches, herein in Excel spreadsheet format is part of on-going research by Poultney Cemetery Trustee Janice.
This section is primarily about Poultney, Vermont soldiers in the numerous wars and is entitled, "Military History: A Memorial to Poultney Soldiers Killed in Action; Died in Service; Died on Leave, Prisoners of War”.
The data continues to be subject to change as new information is received.
Some who died in hospitals died because of battle injuries. Others died due to illness.
A few did not live in Poultney, but graduated from schools here. One lived elsewhere in Vermont but was buried in Poultney because his grandparents were here.

Some, not all, photographs of memorials in Poultney of soldiers who were Killed in Action, Died in Service, Died on Leave, Prisoners of War” are included with this.

Volunteer help is wanted.

??? Is there anyone in our plot owner(s) families who has a battery operated hedge trimmer and who'd be willing to be a volunteer to use it in our property assisting our Senior Citizen Trustees with one project trimming and shaping a hedge a few times throughout the summer/fall season 2026?

Please let us know. Thank you.
