!!!MEET THE YOUTH MONDAY!!!
Hey everyone! My name is Jaydyn. I’m 16 years old, and I’m grateful to be a part of Bethlehem Church. I enjoy coffee shops, journaling, prayer meetings, spending time with friends, listening to testimonies, and creating safe spaces where people can truly be themselves.
I have a heart for prayer, encouragement, and ministry, and I hope to become more involved in outreach and serving in ways that help those who are struggling feel God’s peace and love. My favorite thing about Bethlehem is the presence of God and the genuine love found there. It’s a place where healing can begin, growth is encouraged, and people are reminded that they’re not alone.
For a long time, I struggled with anxiety, depression, loneliness, and constantly feeling like I wasn’t good enough. I overthought everything and carried a lot of pain quietly. At a young age, I experienced hurt that no child should ever have to go through, and that pain followed me into my teenage years. To cope, I began hanging out with the wrong crowd, partying, drinking, and getting into ungodly relationships. I was walking down paths that didn’t bring healing—only temporary distractions.
I was introduced to responsibility very early in life and learned how to take care of myself before I was ready. Even though I grew up in the church (CME—Christian Methodist Episcopal), singing in the choir, attending children’s church, and being deeply involved through my grandmother, the pain I carried made it hard to truly feel peace.
When my grandmother passed away, everything changed. In that moment, my world turned upside down. She was my foundation, my covering, and my connection to faith. Losing her left a hole I didn’t know how to fill. My journey into the Pentecostal faith came with challenges, and not everyone understood it at first. There was a season when circumstances kept me from attending church, but God never left me. Even through trials and spiritual opposition, He strengthened me and carried my family through.
