Sermon

New Beginnings "

I listen to a story today about a young man who left home after a disagreement with his dad. Three years of hard times and hardship the young man kept in touch with his mother. He was traveling close to his home he wrote a letter to his mother and asked if they wanted him to visit leave a white cloth on the fence to the house. He was traveling by train and past his house, and when he looked, the yard covered with white towels. He could hardly wait until the train stopped and ran all the way home. Remember, Jesus is dressed in white and all around the house waiting for you to come hom e.

Sermon

“ Love one another “

When was the last time you told a loved one you loved them? Jesus showed his love for all on the cross for the forgiveness of all our sins. The previous two years I hope I have made an impact on at least one person's life in the Hickory Flat area with kindness and love. The world love and God’s love have a different meaning. You cannot indulge in the sins of the world and claim God’s love; they do not mix. Churches today accept sins for the sake of meeting the bottom line or being politically correct, and that is not Serving God’s plan for us in the second coming. God calls us to love one another as his children and accepting his grace washing away your sins.

“ Mother’s "

I remember the story told in past mothers day sermons of the hen who was found in her nest deceased and when the farmer remove her the baby chicks were alive and well. The story of Moses mother who gave birth, but knew the Moses would have a better chance of survival with the Egyptians. God had a plan for Moses and each of us. Pharaohs daughter found Moses and love him as her own, not has a Hebrew child but as a loving mother. I am proud of two nieces and a daughter who are raising their children as a single parent. It is not as easy one might think my brother, and I raised children also as single parents. I found out quickly why God sent Adam a companion Eve for life. I encourage and every one of you to tell you're natural, adopted, foster or stepmother you love them each day. I challenge both young fathers and mothers to put down the cell phone and tell your children you love them and take them for a nature walk in the woods and talk not text.

Sermon

“ Fear or Faith

This week we continue into the events that have to lead up to Jesus appearing to the disciples in the upper room. Jesus appeared again when Thomas was in the upper room with them. It was not uncommon years ago to see people of faith out in the community helping others daily. The church was the rock for the community and lead by example. The disciples started following Jesus, but when the enemy shows up, we run into our upper room. The disciples forget the reason that celebrated Passover was the faith and fear they had in God. Today we are in our Churches and scared of what is going on around us. Ask yourself has Jesus visited your upper room lately.

Sermon

“ Do we doubt “

Last Sunday we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb. Jesus told his disciple's several ties he would die and be resurrected in three days. As the women who witness the empty tomb returned to the upper room where Jesus disciples, we are hiding from the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Romans and show no faith at all. Jesus appeared to two people leaving the city, and they did not recognize him. Abraham had faith in God with the sacrifice of his Son Isaac, and the Lord rewarded him with a sacrificial lamb. Jesus is our sacrificial lamb and all he as is faith in him. Easter Sunday we saw innocent people attending Easter services in a foreign country and lost their lives. All Jesus disciples, but one lost their lives in the services and faith of Christ. I pray for those families, and Jesus hears their prayers. We never know when Jesus calls us home. How secure is your faith or is the word Christian just a word.

“ Easter Sunday “

We will gather Sunday at 7:00 AM to celebrate the life and resurrection of our Savior that gave his life for each one of us. Jesus condemned by his people and crucified on a cross reserved for criminals. Jesus cleaned out the temple of corruption, and we see it again today. Easter basket and candy out after valentines day. Our temples are corrupt still and Jesus is needed to clean them out. Join Us the Sunday and start a fresh start just like God creation does each morning.
