A FOSSIL BED OF BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS

West Coast Fossil Park at Langebaanweg, South Africa, has become a powerful window into the reality of the Flood and truth of the fossil record. What researchers have uncovered there is a massive fossil deposit spread across a wide area, containing thousands of fossils from many different kinds of animals all buried together.

Marine creatures like whales, seals, and sharks are found alongside land animals such as elephants, antelope, and predators, with large numbers of birds mixed in as well. Evolutionists often ask, “If there was a global Flood, where are all the animals mixed together?” Well, here is one of those places where we do find exactly that.

This creates a serious problem for the secular timeline. If the fossil record formed slowly over millions of years, animals should be separated by environment and time. Instead, everything is jumbled together in the same layers, as if buried in one overwhelming event.

The rock layers confirm it. Thick sediments and large-scale cross-bedding show fast-moving water laid these deposits down rapidly. This is not slow accumulation. This is sudden, forceful burial. Local floods cannot explain this scale, this mixing, or the sheer number of fossils concentrated in one place.

This matches what the Bible describes in the global Flood. A world covered by water, ecosystems uprooted, and countless creatures buried quickly under massive layers of sediment.

The contrast is clear. The secular timeline depends on slow, orderly processes that separate life over vast ages. The evidence here shows rapid burial and mixed environments. The Genesis Flood explains what we actually see in the fossil record.

Holy Week

Scripture Reading: Luke 20:1–22:2

Following the cleansing of the temple on Monday, Jesus returns on Tuesday and faces direct opposition from the religious leaders. This tension unfolds through a series of exchanges—challenging questions, pointed parables that expose hardened hearts, a debate with the Sadducees concerning the resurrection, and a sobering warning about the future destruction of the temple and the end times.

In the midst of these intense moments, Luke highlights a quiet yet powerful contrast: a widow who gives all she has. While the religious leaders resist and reject Jesus, she responds with wholehearted faith, offering her last coin in trust. Her humble devotion stands in sharp contrast to their pride and spiritual blindness. Though they possess knowledge, they fail to recognize truth; she, in her simplicity, understands the depth of who Jesus is.

Today’s passage is longer, so take your time—set aside a few intentional minutes to reflect on the wisdom, authority, and heart of Jesus revealed here.

“Lord Jesus, you are the Son who came from heaven, yet were rejected by those entrusted to prepare the way. Forgive us when we overlook you or fail to receive your life-giving truth. Shape our hearts to be like the widow’s—full of sincere and unwavering faith. In the midst of life’s trials, draw us back to you and fix our eyes on your kingdom, which will come in fullness when you return in righteousness. In your name we pray, Amen.”
