Blessing of the Animals

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
Paws and Invite a Friend!

Mark your pet’s calendar: September 20 at 4:00 pm. CPC is hosting our very first Blessing of the Animals on the west lawn—and we’d love for you to bring a friend, neighbor, or fellow animal lover!

This joyful, short service is a chance to pause and thank God for the wonderful creatures who bring so much love and companionship into our lives. Pets are welcome on leashes or in carriers, and if your furry (or feathered!) friend doesn’t travel well, bring a photo instead.

We’ll share a brief liturgy, reflection, prayer, and—of course—treats! We’ll also collect pet food or monetary donations for TAILS Foundation and Coeur d’Alene Dog Fanciers.

Most importantly, this is a great opportunity to introduce someone to CPC. So grab your neighbor, call a friend, leash up the pup, and come paws with us!

Once a month, we welcome into our pulpit a guest preacher from our region who blesses us with a new perspective on God's Word. This Sunday, as we "launch" our new sermon series on Behold-ing the glory of God, we are excited to have as our preacher Pastor Joe Bruce. Joe is a NASA Solar System Ambassador who has combined his love for astronomy, his deep faith in God, and his passion for people into decades in ministry in the Presbyterian Church. Pastor Betsey was a colleague with Joe at Hamblen Park Presbyterian in Spokane, where Joe served faithfully as the Children's Ministry Director. Joe is now serving as Transitional Pastor at the Fairfield Community Church...and he continues to spread his knowledge about the wonders of the Solar System in classrooms all over the region. Joe and wife Kathy live in Spokane and enjoy riding bicycles, keeping up on what's happening in the night skies, kayaking and spending time with their grandchildren.

After worship, Joe will stick around at his “Table of Wonders,” where he’ll be ready to share his passion for God’s creation and answer whatever questions you may have about the solar system—and beyond.

Worship starts at 10 am on Sunday, with coffee fellowship following service. All are welcome at CPC!

NEW Fall Sermon Series Starts September 6!

“Behold!” is a word that appears throughout both the Old and New Testaments—a call to pause, pay attention, and recognize the presence and work of God. This fall in worship, we will behold God with awe and wonder: the God who created the cosmos, the natural world, and the astonishing creatures that inhabit it; the God whose handiwork can be glimpsed in the rich diversity of cultures around the world, in human ingenuity and compassion, in the changes and discoveries that come with age, and even in the ordinary moments of our everyday lives. Together, we will behold the many ways God’s presence and creativity surround us!

All are welcome at CPC! Sunday service starts at 10 am followed by a casual and welcoming coffee fellowship. Please join us! www.pfcpc.org
