New Frontiers Church

New Frontiers Church Congregations meeting in Portsmouth, Dover & Rochester NH. Serving our neighbors and the nations with the love of Christ.

• Glorify God
All of life is meant to reflect this desire to glorify God in everything, whether our work or recreation, in business or in the arts. We embrace the Westminster shorter catechism which states, “The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.”

• Make Disciples
In Matthew 28, Jesus plainly stated this to be the mission of every church that bears his name. From our commun

ity groups to Sunday gatherings to church planting efforts, our goal is to be making disciples.

• Transform the World
We believe God has called us all to be missionaries. It means that as Christians we want to get involved in the world around us, having a restorative, healing impact on people and our culture. We want to bring hope to both our local neighborhoods and to the nations of the world. Our vision is to be a local church with a global mission.

We had a great time at National Night Out last night at Gosling Meadows, our 13th year of hosting for Portsmouth Housing Authority. A huge thank you to our many volunteers who turned up and made it one of the best years yet.

We will be hosting National Night Out at Gosling Meadows Public Housing for our 13th year.

On Sunday Ian recommended Bryan Mowrey's book, written primarily to help young men. Buy a copy for yourself or to give someone to read. Even better, read it with them and discuss.

In a culture that confuses manhood with autonomy or reduces it to passivity and comfort, many young men are left without a blueprint for their lives. The result is not strength, but drift—lives marked more by distraction than direction. But you were built for more—and this book shows you how. I....

On Father's Day, Ian Ashby gave this message addressing the fatherlessness crisis in our nation, weaving together his own personal story with the hope found in the love of our Heavenly Father. He highlights how God's fatherly love brings healing and transformation, and calls on the men of the church to reflect the Father's heart, so that the church may become "a place of refuge and relearning for the growing number of fatherless sons and daughters." He also recommends Built for More by Bryan Mowrey, a book for young men, and copies were distributed following the service.

Join us this Wednesday, June 17 at 6.30pm as we gather the whole church to pray. Please be aware:
“The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.” — Samuel Chadwick
We will be hearing from our friends in Boston - from Daniel & Natalie and David & Betsy about the exciting new thing that is happening there. And we will be praying for the Spirit to move here on the Seacoast.
Don't miss it, when we gather together in prayer we can make the devil tremble.

What does it mean to be filled with the Spirit? Doesn't every believer already have the Spirit dwelling within them? What is it like to be filled with the Spirit, how would you know?
These are some of the questions addressed as Ian takes a look at how the church in Ephesus began. Ian also talks about how Newfrontiers - now a global a family of over 5,000 churches began 50 years ago. The important question to ask is the one Paul asked in Acts 19 - 'Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?'
