Lucia A. Oberle
March 28, 1952 –July 18, 2026
Lucia A. Oberle went to be with the Lord July 18, 2026. She passed peacefully in her sleep at home.
Lucia was born in Montevideo, Uruguay , the daughter of Alexander and Blanca (Abella). She came to the U.S.A. as an exchange student at Maumee Valley County Day School in Toledo, Ohio.
She was employed in the medical field for many years at Toledo and Memorial Hospitals. She then managed the office of Seaway Services, LLC, a business she and her husband founded when they moved from Toledo to Port Clinton, Ohio in 1990.
Lucia enjoyed boating on Lake Erie with her family on the numerous Lyman boats she helped to restore. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.
She is survived by her husband, Tom, of 41 years, her brother, Francisco Abella, her sons, David and Michael Newman, Christopher, David (Nikki) Oberle, and grandchildren: Autumn, Landon, Hayden &Thomas Newman, Taylor and Talyn Oberle.
Her family would like to thank the fine people of Stein Hospice and Heartland Hospice and especially her aide, Hannah Weaver, for their kindness and loving care over the last year.
A memorial service will be held July 31, 2026 at 11 AM at Erie Shores Assembly of God, Gill Road, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452. Pastor Harry Hunt will officiate.
Following the service, there will be luncheon at that church
