A2 Firearms Training is owned and operated by Shawn Hunter, and his wife, Jessica. Shawn is A2's lead instructor. Shawn has over 15 year experience in law enforcement and holds an Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) advanced patrol certificate. Shawn is an Idaho POST certified firearms instructor for pistol, shotgun, and patrol rifle. In addition, Shawn is a Glock Professional Instru

ctor. Shawn is an armorer for Glock pistols, Remington 870 shotguns, and AR-15 rifles. Shawn was previously a member of the Bingham County/Blackfoot Police Special Response Team. Shawn has a Master's Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Shawn has received over 345 hours of firearms instruction, and has instructed over 140 hours of firearms training. In addition to offering the Idaho Enhanced Concealed Weapons Course, A2 Firearms Training offers the following courses: --Basic Firearms Introduction --Intermediate Firearm Tactics--Women's only classes of any offered training. A2 Firearms Training can also custom tailor firearms courses upon request. Additionally, A2 Training offers the Avoid, Deny, Defend course for businesses, churches, etc. on responding to active shooter situations.

Combat training. Spent 10 hours at the range last week drilling combat drills, particularly malfunction drills, combat reloads, a one shot competition, and combat course. Whether I’m training civilians or my officers, I love helping shooters hone and refine their skill set. Next enhanced class (sold out) is this weekend. Another class coming late July if you’re looking for your next enhanced permit.

Spent the day today tearing down Gen 5 and 6 G***k pistols becoming a current armorer, again. Excited to pick up a Gen 6 G***k when I can. You really need to handle one to appreciate the changes G***k made to it from previous generations! Any fi****ms training is good training!
