1 Chronicles 12 briefly mentions the “Men of Issachar, who understood the times, and knew what to do about it.”

When the LORD showed the prophet Isaiah just how “unclean” were the people of his day, and asked, “who shall I send,” the prophet replied, “Here I am, send me!”

What we do at Worldview Wednesday is very much about applying the spirit of both of these passages. Are we like these men? Are we even trying? Or are we content to lean into tribal narratives? Or worse, are we too addicted to our affluence and comfort to even ask hard questions like these? Are we afraid of discovering the truth that Isaiah learned - that not only are the people around him unclean - He himself is a “man of unclean lips?”

We are 3 years into a nine year journey through the entire biblical narrative, complemented with biblical doctrine, and confronting the issues of our day. And as providence would have it, we had already planned over the next few months to get into some topics that are deeply relevant to the unfolding chaos in the Middle East. Due to recent developments, I have made the decision to move these talks up a few weeks, so as to help us think through these matters in a more timely fashion. So over the next few weeks, we’ll be covering things like the Religion of Islam, America’s relationship to the modern state of Israel, the “Post War Consensus,” the rise of “wokeness” (of the left and the right), some matters of biblical prophecy, the state of American Evangelicalism…and so much more.

If you would like to join us, we meet on Wednesdays at 7:00. Consider listening to (maybe even sharing?) last week’s talk and join us tomorrow!

Note - The original recording cut out around the 45' mark. For the sake of getting the entire message out, the final bit was re-recorded and added to the end...

Tomorrow at 7:00, we’ll begin our journey into biblical prophecy with an overview of two "minor" prophets - Jonah and Hosea. While these two books might be called "minor" prophets - their messages are anything but. They are gut wrenching, theologically rich, and more than two and half millennia later, they still speak.

Having just warned his disciples about their own hardness of heart, Jesus performs a miracle that serves as the perfect symbol of what their spiritual healing would look like - a recovery of sight to the blind that would occur in stages, by the loving work of the Master.

Jesus has another conflict with the religious leaders. This time, they chastise him for not following the "Traditions of the Elders." Jesus not only dismantles their attacks, he exposes their own sin, and addresses a timeless struggle for the people of God - to live by human tradition instead of God's word and grace.

From 10/26/25 - Jesus has another conflict with the religious leaders. This time, they chastise him for not following the "Traditions of the Elders." Jesus n...

Join us tonight at 7:00!

Humanism, s*x and gender, mind control, talk therapy, psychology, education, marketing, media.

These are just a few of the issues related to the big questions about human identity and purpose. Sadly, many of our opinions on these kinds of topics are simply absorbed from the culture, rather than carefully examined. The result?

Instead of knowing our own minds, they are often made for us by unseen manipulators and hidden agendas. Instead of having biblically transformed minds that shape the culture for God’s glory, we embrace a hive mind and are sadly shaped by the culture. And instead of “imaging” God, we “image” idols of our own making.

Check out last week’s Worldview Wednesday below and then join us this evening at 7:00 PM!

Who Am I?The biblical answer is profound, somewhat mysterious, and surprisingly brief - Humans are created "in the image of God." So what does that mean? Ke...

Tomorrow evening at Worldview Wednesday we'll dive into the biblical doctrine of humanity (also known as anthropology). In our identity obsessed culture, I think you’ll find this an important and timely study. We all ask questions about purpose, the meaning of life, human value, finding our “way” in the world. This is our chance to examine what the Bible has to say about these kinds of questions. We’ll explore the concept of “the image of God,” and how it relates to our purpose in the world, which in future weeks will lead us to confront the sin of idolatry and many of its pernicious forms and how it corrupts and compromises our search for meaning and purpose. Join us at 7:00 PM!

In case you missed last weeks introduction to the Psalms, check it out here:

Perhaps the most "human" book of the bible, and compiled over about a thousand years, the Psalms are truly a unique gift of God. Timeless as they are timely,...

What a gift of God that in His wisdom and compassion, He saw fit to include as part of the written revelation of Himself, a collection of poems, songs, meditations, and even prophecy, that would speak to (and through) just about every human emotion you can imagine - even (and perhaps especially) the negative ones. In every season of life, in every state of mind, in every precious moment - God has offered to us a way to know Him, and commune with Him.

Worldview Wednesday resumes tomorrow 8/27 at 7:00 PM.

We would love for you to join us! Consider reading and reflecting on Psalm 1 and 2 in preparation for our journey through the psalms. Those two psalms set the tone for the entire collection and challenge us to consider “the way of the righteous” and the “refuge” of the king - the two keys for the man who is “blessed.

It is a puzzling passage for many, and troubling for others. Sadly, it's difficulty often leads to misuse or avoidance. But obviously Jesus meant something very important by this solemn warning, and Mark places it strategically in his gospel in the context of a very important discussion about the nature of "The Jesus Family." When understood properly, this is a passage that can actually bring profound clarity to the nature of our relationship with Jesus, and our fellow members "in Christ." It also serves a much needed warning about the dangers of pride and other self-seeking impulses.
