Daily Bread - Temptation

"BLESSED IS THE ONE WHOSE TRANSGRESSIONS ARE
FORGIVEN, WHOSE SINS ARE COVERED. BLESSED
IS THE ONE WHOSE SIN THE LORD DOES NOT COUNT
AGAINST THEM AND IN WHOSE SPIRIT IS NO DECEIT."
( PSALM 32:1-2 )

Dear Friends,
As we all know this world is filled with temptations and
sinful desires! They're shown and glorified in Movies and
on Television every day. Now this is nothing new for even
our Savoir Jesus Christ faced temptations on this earth!
( See LUKE 4:1-13 )

So, if you feel temptations or sinful desires and you
feel that they are more than you can bear, remember it
is written, "NO TEMPTATION HAS OVERTAKEN YOU
EXCEPT WHAT IS COMMON TO MANKIND. AND GOD
IS FAITHFUL; HE WILL NOT LET YOU BE TEMPTED
BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN BEAR. BUT WHEN YOU ARE
TEMPTED, HE WILL ALSO PROVIDE A WAY OUT SO
THAT YOU CAN ENDURE IT." ( 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13 )

After all, when tempted we can turn to Jesus, "BECAUSE HE
HIMSELF SUFFERED WHEN HE WAS TEMPTED, HE IS
ABLE TO HELP THOSE WHO ARE BEING TEMPTED."
( HEBREWS 2:18 ) So "SUBMIT YOURSELVES, THEN, TO
GOD. RESIST THE DEVIL, AND HE WILL FLEE FROM
YOU." ( JAMES 4:7 )

Now Friend, in closing my prayer for you is to GROW IN THE
GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR
JESUS CHRIST. TO HIM BE GLORY BOTH NOW AND
FOREVER! AMEN! ( 2 PETER 3:18 )

Daily Bread - Are You Feeling Depressed?

HUMBLE YOURSELVES BEFORE THE LORD, AND HE WILL
LIFT YOU UP.
( JAMES 4:10 )

Dear Friends,
There are times when we all become depressed because
of things that happen in our lives. For sometimes we feel; WE ARE HARD
PRESSED ON EVERY SIDE, BUT NOT CRUSHED;
PERPLEXED, BUT NOT IN DESPAIR; PERSECUTED, BUT
NOT ABANDONED; STRUCK DOWN, BUT NOT DESTROYED.
( 2 CORINTHIANS 4:8-10 )

Now when you feel the pressures of life remember the
words of king David, for he wrote; THOUGH I WALK IN THE MIDST
OF TROUBLE, YOU PRESERVE MY LIFE; YOU STRETCH
OUT YOUR HAND AGAINST THE ANGER OF MY FOES;
WITH YOUR RIGHT HAND YOU SAVE ME. ( PSALM 138:7 )

THEREFORE, WE DO NOT LOSE HEART. FOR OUR
LIGHT AND MOMENTARY TROUBLES ARE ACHIEVING FOR
US AN ETERNAL GLORY THAT FAR OUTWEIGHS THEM ALL.
SO, WE FIX OUR EYES NOT ON WHAT IS SEEN, BUT WHAT IS
UNSEEN. SINCE WHAT IS SEEN IS TEMPORARY, BUT WHAT
IS UNSEEN IS ETERNAL. ( 2 CORINTHIANS 4:16-18 )

FINALLY, BE STRONG IN THE LORD AND IN HIS MIGHTY
POWER. ( EPHESIANS 6:10 ) For God has said: "FEAR NOT, FOR I
AM WITH YOU; BE NOT DISMAYED, FOR I AM YOUR GOD. I WILL
STRENGTHEN YOU, YES, I WILL HELP YOU, I WILL UPHOLD YOU
WITH MY RIGHTOUS RIGHT HAND! Amen! ( ISAIAH 41:10 )

Daily Bread - Do You Have Troubles?

THE RIGHTEOUS PERSON MAY HAVE MANY TROUBLES,
BUT THE LORD DELIVERS HIM FROM THEM ALL.
( PSALM 34:19 )

Dear Friends,
We all face troubling times in our lives, like the pain of
sorrow, grief or failure just to name a few. Even perhaps
the small daily frustrations that constantly bother us as
well.

When you find yourself experiencing problems like that
remember that; THE LORD IS CLOSE TO THE BROKEN-
HEARTED AND SAVES THOSE WHO ARE CRUSHED
IN SPIRIT. ( PSALM 34:18 ) For after all; THE EYES OF
THE LORD ARE ON THE RIGHTEOUS AND HIS EARS
ARE ATTENTIVE TO THEIR CRY. ( PSALM 34:15 )
For when; THE RIGHTEOUS CRY OUT, AND THE LORD
HEARS THEM; HE DELIVERS THEM FROM ALL THEIR
TROUBLES. ( PSALM 34:17 )

Now you may be thinking, how does that apply to me
for I do not feel very righteous. Well through Jesus Christ
we become righteous, for it is written; GOD MADE HIM WHO
HAD NO SIN TO BE SIN FOR US, SO THAT IN HIM WE
MIGHT BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.
( 2 CORINTHIANS 5:21 )

So, Friends, remember the Words of our Savior Jesus
Christ; "DO NOT LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED.
YOU BELIEVE IN GOD; BELIEVE ALSO IN ME."
( JOHN 14:1 ) And let GOD deliver you from all of your
troubles! Amen.

Daily Bread - Give Praise To The Lord

LET US COME BEFORE HIM WITH THANKSGIVING; AND EXTOL
HIM WITH MUSIC AND SONG
( PSALM 95:2 )

Dear Friends,
Always remember to count your blessings each day, and to
thank God for them! For no matter what we have, when we
look around us, we find others who have less!

Now I know that when things disappoint us, we are sad and
often depressed. However, it is written that we should; REJOICE ALWAYS; PRAY CONTINUALLY; GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; FOR THIS IS GOD'S WILL FOR YOU IN JESUS CHRIST. ( 1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18 )

Therefore, Friends, never feel that God has let you down,
because a prayer isn't answered, or something goes wrong in
your life. For your Heavenly Father always knows what is
best for you, and; HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE
YOU. ( DEUTERONOMY 31:6 )

So, my friends remember to always; GIVE PRAISE TO THE LORD,
PROCLAIM HIS NAME; MAKE KNOWN AMONG THE NATIONS
WHAT HE HAS DONE. ( 1 CHRONICLES 16:8 )

Now in closing Friends have a Great day and know that my
prayer for you is that; THE GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST,
AND THE LOVE OF GOD, AND THE COMMUNION OF THE
HOLY SPIRIT BE WITH YOU. Amen!

Daily Bread - Wash Day

As King David said, "WASH ME THOROUGHLY FROM MY
INIQUITY, AND CLEANSE ME FROM MY SIN."
( PSALMS 51:2 )

Dear Friends,
We all hope that the Lord will wash away our sins when
we repent and thus remove them from "The Book of Life."

Now, I received the following message from an online friend
and it will give us a weekly schedule for our chores as a good Christian.
Therefore, I hope you enjoy this message as much as I have. It is Titled:

Wash Day

Monday Wash Day
Lord, help me wash away all my selfishness and vanity, so I
may serve you with perfect humility through the week ahead.

Tuesday Ironing Day
Dear Lord, help me iron out all the wrinkles
of prejudice I have collected through the years so that I may
see the beauty in others.

Wednesday Mending Day
O God, help me mend my ways so I will not set a bad example
for others.

Thursday Cleaning Day
Lord Jesus, help me to dust out all the many faults I have been
hiding in the secret corners of my heart.

Friday Shopping Day
O God, give me the grace to shop wisely so I may purchase
eternal happiness for myself and all others in need of love.

Saturday Cooking Day
Help me, my Savior, to brew a big kettle of brotherly love and
serve it with clean, sweet bread of human kindness.

Sunday The Lord's Day
O God, I have prepared my house for you. Please come into my
heart so I may spend the day and the rest of my life in your
presence.

Now if this message has inspired you in any way or you
feel that it can brighten someone else's day, please share

Daily Bread - PEACE

"BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS, FOR THEY SHALL BE
CALLED SONS OF GOD."
( MATTHEW 5:9 )

Dear Friends,
Every time I read that verse, I think of a magnificent prayer
that someone sent me who says he keeps it hung on the wall in his office. It also reminds me of the words of our Savior Jesus Christ, for He said, "PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU, MY PEACE I GIVE TO YOU; NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES DO I GIVE TO YOU. LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED, NEITHER LET IT BE AFRAID."
( JOHN 14:27 )

Therefore, I pray that "THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH
SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR
HEARTS AND MINDS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS."
( PHILIPPIANS 4:7 ) And make you an instrument of
God's Peace as well! Amen.

Now Friends, I will share with you that magnificent prayer
that I mentioned.

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your Peace!
Where there is hatred -let me sow love
Where there is injury-pardon
Where there is doubt-faith
Where there is despair-hope
Where there is darkness-light
Where there is sadness-joy

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so
much seek to be consoled-as to console
To be understood-as to understand
To be loved-as to love
For it is in giving-that we receive
It is in pardoning-that we are pardoned
It is in dying-that we are born to Eternal Life.

Daily Bread - Wisdom and Patience

GOD GAVE SOLOMON WISDOM AND VERY GREAT INSIGHT,
AND A BREADTH OF UNDERSTANDING AS MEASURELESS
AS THE SAND ON THE SEASHORE.
( 1 KINGS 4:29 )

Dear Friends,
Today let us look at "How To Succeed In God's Eyes." Through
the Wisdom of Solomon, we will learn the qualities that promote
success and a good reputation, which should be the goal of every
Christian.

*God's Children should live a righteous life:
"RIGHTEOUSNESS GUARDS THE PERSON OF INTEGRITY,
BUT WICKEDNESS OVERTHROWS THE SINNER."
( PROVERBS 13:6 )

*We should hate all that is false:
"THE RIGHTEOUS HATE WHAT IS FALSE, BUT THE WICKED
MAKE THEMSELVES A STENCH AND BRING SHAME ON
THEMSELVES." ( PROVERBS 13:5 )

*Committing all your works into God's Hands:
"COMMITT TO THE LORD WHATEVER YOU DO, AND HE WILL
ESTABLISH YOUR PLANS." ( PROVERBS 16:3 )

*Restrain your words, and keep from losing your temper:
"THE ONE WHO HAS KNOWLEDGE USES WORDS WITH
RESTRAINT, AND WHOEVER HAS UNDERSTANDING IS EVEN-
TEMPERED." ( PROVERBS 17:27 )

*Seek wisdom and understanding:
"THE ONE WHO GETS WISDOM LOVES LIFE; THE ONE WHO
CHERISHES UNDERSTANDING WILL SOON PROSPER."
( PROVERBS 19:8 )

*Always be truthful:
"A FALSE WITNESS WILL NOT GO UNPUNISHED, AND
WHOEVER POURS OUT LIES WILL NOT GO FREE."
( PROVERBS 19:5 )

*Be humble and revere the Lord:
"HUMILITY IS THE [*FEAR] OF THE LORD; ITS WAGES ARE
RICHES AND HONOR AND LIFE." ( PROVERBS 22:4 )
[*Fear as used here means reverence!]

*Always be willing to confess and renounce sin.
"WHOEVER CONCEALS HIS SIN DOES NOT PROSPER, BUT
THE ONE WHO CONFESSES AND RENOUNCES THEM FINDS
MERCY." ( PROVERBS 28:13 )

Other verses that deal with one's reputation, as found in the
Book of PROVERBS, are 11:10 & 16; 14:3; 19:10; 22:1; 23:17;
18:24; 13:14. Now in closing Friends, MAY THE LORD DIRECT YOUR HEART INTO THE LOVE OF GOD AND INTO THE PATIENCE OF
CHRIST. ( 2 THESSALONIANS 3:5 ) and; LET PATIENCE HAVE
ITS PERFECT WORK, THAT YOU MAY BE PERFECT AND
COMPLETE, LACKING NOTHING. Amen. ( JAMES 1:4 )

Daily Bread - Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

THESE THINGS I HAVE SPOKEN TO YOU, THAT IN ME
YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. IN THE WORLD YOU WILL
HAVE TRIBULATION; BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER, I HAVE
OVERCOME THE WORLD.
( JOHN 16:33 )

Dear Friends,
Now in this World today, there are times when we
may feel overwhelmed by what is going on all around
us. After all, with wars and terrorist's threats, terrible
weather disasters happening etc., it is enough to make
one wonder what is happening to this World today.

If all of these events cause you to feel overwhelmed,
and the tribulation in this World is weighing heavily on
your mind, remember that God is always with you, and
these events are unfolding as prophesied. Also remember
that our Savior Jesus Christ said, "LET NOT YOUR HEART BE
TROUBLED; YOU BELIEVE IN GOD, BELIEVE ALSO IN
ME." ( JOHN 14:1 ) For when we put all of our trust
in Jesus' hands, we will find peace; FOR HE HIMSELF IS OUR
PEACE. ( EPHESIANS 2:14 )

FINALLY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, WHATEVER IS
TRUE, WHATEVER IS NOBLE, WHATEVER IS RIGHT,
WHATEVER IS PURE, WHATEVER IS LOVELY, WHAT-
EVER IS ADMIRABLE--IF ANYTHING IS EXCELLENT OR
PRAISEWORTHY--THINK ABOUT SUCH THINGS.
( PHILIPPIANS 4:8 ) Instead of the troubles of this
World.

It is then Friends, that; THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH
SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR
HEARTS AND MINDS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS.
( PHILIPPIANS 4:7 ) Amen!

Daily Bread - Grace To All Who Love The Lord

FOR I AM PERSUADED THAT NEITHER DEATH NOR
LIFE, NOR ANGELS NOR PRINCIPALITIES NOR POWERS,
NOR THINGS PRESENT NOR THINGS TO COME, NOR
HEIGHT NOR DEPTH, NOR ANY OTHER CREATED THING,
SHALL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF
GOD WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD.
( ROMANS 8:38-39 )

Dear Friends,
God fills us with His love, and He wants us to share that
great love with others. So BELOVED, LET US LOVE ONE
ANOTHER: FOR LOVE IS OF GOD; AND EVERYONE WHO
LOVES IS BORN OF GOD AND KNOWS GOD.
( I JOHN 4:7 )

So why not show your love for others each and every day.
You can do that by being a good friend, and lending a
helping hand when someone is in need. It is also as simple
as smiling and saying hello to everyone you meet, and asking
them how their day is going. So let your love shine brightly,
and try to be a friend to all.

After all, Jesus said, "THIS IS MY COMMANDMENT, THAT YOU
LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU."
( JOHN 15:12 )

Most important of all, remember also that Jesus said, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, ALL YOUR SOUL, WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH." ( MARK 12:30 ) For when you do, God will fill you with that same amount of love in return!

Now in closing Friends, may GRACE BE WITH ALL THOSE
WHO LOVE OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IN SINCERITY.
AMEN. ( EPHESIANS 6:24 )

Daily Bread - Find The Time

THE LORD OUR GOD, THE LORD IS ONE. LOVE THE LORD YOUR
GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL AND
WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH. THESE COMMANDMENTS THAT I
GIVE YOU TODAY ARE TO BE ON YOUR HEARTS. IMPRESS
THEM ON YOUR CHILDREN. TALK ABOUT THEM WHEN YOU SIT
AT HOME AND WHEN YOU WALK ALONG THE ROAD, WHEN YOU
LIE DOWN AND WHEN YOU GET UP.
( DEUTERONOMY 6:4-7 )

Dear Friends,
We often fall into the trap of being so busy caught up in this
World of ours today. We even seem to forget that we are only on
this Earth for a short time. Now it is written, WHAT IS YOUR LIFE?
YOU ARE A MIST THAT APPEARS FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND
THEN VANISHES. ( JAMES 4:14 )

Therefore, our Savior Jesus Christ warned us about this when
He said; WHAT GOOD IS IT FOR SOMEONE TO GAIN THE
WHOLE WORLD, AND YET LOSE OR FORFEIT THEIR VERY
SELF? ( LUKE 9:25 )

So, Friends, always remember to keep God number one in
your heart, for after all, Eternity is a very, very, long time indeed.

Now here is a poem that seemed perfect to end this message with today!

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"
