Our congregational chairman, Mark Behmer, Pastor Savage, and Pastor Bublitz are spending three days this week at the Arizona-California District Convention in Phoenix representing Heritage.

The convention includes worship, a keynote presentation, district business, and fellowship with hundreds of pastors, teachers, and lay delegates from throughout our district.

Have you ever said something and instantly regretted it? Done something and immediately felt bad about it? Thought something and quickly realized it wasn't right to even think about?

These are universal struggles for all of us, and they're all symptoms of the underlying disease: sin.

Thanks be to God, though, that there is an effective and lasting cure: the love of Christ and his work to not only treat the disease of sin and all its symptoms, but to do away with it entirely and forever.

Sometimes people notice when Christians "roll with the punches." They'll ask why? How?

The reality is, Christians can roll with the punches of life because we have the love of God in our hearts and his faithful promises of a better future, no matter how tumultuous the present. That's the reason for our hope. It's because we know Christ as Lord and Savior.

And if someone asks us about it, God through the Apostle Peter encourages us to respond to them with gentleness and respect—not in a way that says, "I'm better than you" or "I have it all figured out." Instead, do so with the humility of someone who knows that the reason for our hope is entirely outside of ourselves and secured for us by the grace of God in the good news of Jesus.

Yesterday we celebrated the Festival of the Holy Trinity. Throughout the Bible, God tells us about all that he has done, still does, and will do for us as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—three persons but one God, living and active in our daily lives.

The most wonderful thing he's done? He freely and fully gives us forgiveness for our sins and life in eternity by his grace alone, received by faith alone, in Christ alone!

This coming Sunday, the Christian Church all over the world celebrates its belief in a triune God. Triune comes from the Latin Tri (three) and unus (one). Our God is triune because he tells us that he is three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—but only one God.

Although that is an incomprehensible truth, we rejoice to know that at the center of the mysterious majesty of God is a heart of love and an unyielding desire to save.

Join us for worship and Bible study this Sunday to grow in your faith, be comforted by God's gracious promises, and encouraged by a group of people who truly know what it means to serve one another in love. Come and see!

No matter the doubts, no matter the fears, God's grace and his relentless desire to save is always there. He invites us to run to him in worship whenever the obstacles of life stop us in our tracks. With him, there is strength to endure and safety beyond doubt.

This past Sunday, we celebrated a special milestone for one young man in our congregation, Ezra, who was confirmed in the Christian faith.

After two years of Bible instruction, Ezra had opportunity to confess his faith and promised to be faithful to Jesus throughout his life, motivated by Jesus' own faithfulness to him.

Praise the Lord for his continued work in Ezra and all those who study his Word! We pray that Ezra will continue to grow in the knowledge and truth of God's Word all the days of his life as he continues to faithfully witness to others about the love of his Savior and theirs.
