There is no higher-stakes, more humbling work in this life than shepherding the children God has entrusted to us. Tedd Tripp's Shepherding a Child's Heart helpfully roots the parenting task in Proverbs 4:23. This is the heartbeat of BUILD and Wellspring, the language of our Smallgroups and how we talk to each other in the church. Likewise, this needs to be the aim of our parenting.
Behavior is the overflow of the heart, so godly parenting is never content merely to manage conduct. We are shepherds appointed by God to lead our children toward Him by the Word, by faithful communication, by loving discipline, and by the gospel of Christ.
