Today, we stand at the foot of the Cross.

On this Good Friday, may we enter into the mystery of Christ’s Passion with reverence.
Let us remember that His silence speaks volumes. His wounds heal. His death brings life.

We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

This group photo captures nearly 150 women gathered for Corpus Christi’s annual women’s retreat.

This year’s retreat, “Thirst”, centered on the Holy Spirit’s invitation to receive living water, inspired by the woman at the well.

Each smiling face represents a unique journey, brought together in a shared encounter with Christ and a deeper longing for His presence.

We had a blast at the Parish Picnic and hope you did too!

A huge thank you to Ivan Mora, our Coordinator of Parish Life, and his team of volunteers for helping put on such a fun day. Special thanks as well to our Knights of Columbus for keeping everyone fed with delicious burgers and brats.

And thank you to the Lil’ Debbie Band for the tunes, and to St. Vincent de Paul for leading a thoughtful, well-organized service project.

Praise God! We’re so grateful for a parish community that celebrates and serves together! ❤️

Volunteer Service Project Thank You! 💙

I want to thank all of you who helped with our Volunteer Service Project for our parishioners at the church picnic yesterday. It was a huge success. I counted at least 24 volunteers. You all are awesome.

Together, our parishioners helped make 300 Blessing Bags. It was so beautiful to see everyone showing such appreciation, answering questions, and welcoming people into the mission. The little ones seemed to enjoy helping too, and I’m hoping it planted a seed for them to become Vincentians one day, or at least to keep serving others in need. (See pics below!)

And to everyone who helped with set-up, take-down, and packing everything up, you ROCK. Thank you.

We were also blessed with perfect picnic weather, great food, and good friends. And yes, I embarrassed myself again in the Corn Hole toss competition, with my son as my teammate. We lost big time in the first round, but I still had a great time. I’m pretty sure there’s something wrong with those bean bags. 🤔

Thank you again for showing up and making this happen. We will be delivering the Blessing Bags to Mesa Diner and to our homeless shelters soon.

Peace and blessings always,
Carmelita

We’re excited to share that St. John Bosco Catholic School is hosting an Open House on Wednesday, January 28, from 5:30–7:00 pm.

This is a wonderful opportunity for families to explore Preschool through 8th Grade programs and learn more about the SJB community. Applications for the 2026–2027 school year are now open. 😊

Thank you to our Knights! ❤️

On Saturday, January 10, the Corpus Christi Knights of Columbus joined several other local councils to serve at Sleep In Heavenly Peace in Phoenix, building beds for children in need.

More than 30 volunteers from our council, along with family members and volunteers from five other councils, helped build enough beds for 150 children who otherwise would not have one.

We were also blessed by a visit from Bishop John Dolan, who offered a blessing and even lent a hand during the build.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time and talents to support this important work of charity.

We love and deeply appreciate all our volunteers, and no parish could run without them.

Last month, we hosted our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. It was a lovely evening that began with a staff-led Rosary offered for the intentions of our volunteers, followed by Holy Mass, and concluded with a beautifully catered dinner by Word of Mouth Grill and a candlelight reception coordinated by Ivan Mora and Barb Manning.

Ministry leaders nominated volunteers to receive one of three Outstanding Volunteer Awards, honoring those who have shown extraordinary commitment and exemplary virtue. Award recipients received a signed certificate from Fr. James and a gift card. We also presented our first-ever Lifetime Service Award to Jim Hunt, who has faithfully served our parish for over 40 years.

Congratulations to our Outstanding Volunteer Award recipients:
Gina Miller
Nancy Higgins
Lisa Verghese

Lifetime Service Award Recipient:
Jim Hunt

Every volunteer is a gift to our parish and helps bring the presence and love of Jesus into every part of parish life. Much of this good work happens quietly and behind the scenes, done in love without recognition. God sees everything, and no one can outdo Him in generosity. We pray that each of our volunteers is richly blessed for all they do in helping our parish remain vibrant, welcoming, and filled with the love of God.
