🎉 Celebrating Our Pastor! 🎉

Yesterday was an extra special day at Mars Hill Baptist Church as we celebrated two wonderful occasions—our pastor’s 2-year anniversary with us and his birthday! 🎂⛪

We are so thankful for his leadership, dedication, and the love he shows our church family. We enjoyed a great time of fellowship together with pizza, cake, and ice cream to celebrate! 🍕🍰🍦

Happy Birthday and Happy 2-Year Anniversary, Bro. Micah! We are grateful God brought you and your family to Mars Hill, and we look forward to all He has in store in the years ahead! ❤️

There appears to be a growing number of churches working to recover the practice—never entirely lost, but not as popular as it used to be—of singing from books.

Hymnals offer perceived permanence and stability in a musical landscape that changes quickly and often. The decision to reintroduce congregations to hymnals is often an ideological one, especially for churches that made the transition away from them in recent decades.

But a notable number of churches are making that choice, choosing the printed page over lyrics projected onto a screen.

Dan Kreider, a composer, arranger, and music minister who designed the Sing! Hymnal said hymnals aren’t going to replace projection or any of the tech tools that undergird contemporary worship music. But they offer something valuable and different.

“If you’re in a church that just goes with the most popular songs, where is your sense of permanence? Think of the kids growing up in your church. Where is their sense of permanence? What songs are they going to remember and sing as they age? The hymnal slows us down,” Kreider said.

Back to School Bash 2026

What a wonderful evening at our Back to School Bash! ☀️🌭🍔💦

After worshiping together this morning, we enjoyed an afternoon filled with great food, lots of laughter, and even better fellowship. Families gathered to enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers while the kids (and plenty of adults too!) cooled off on the giant water slide.

It’s always a blessing to spend time together outside the church walls, building friendships and making memories. Thank you to everyone who helped prepare, cook, serve, set up, and clean up. Most of all, thank you to everyone who came and made it such a fun day!

As our students, teachers, and school staff head back to school, we pray God will bless and protect each one throughout the new school year. We can’t wait to see all that He has in store!

Today was a special day in the life of Mars Hill Baptist Church as we officially broke ground on our new sanctuary! 🎉

What began as a vision and much prayer has now become a reality. We are thankful for God’s faithfulness, provision, and guidance every step of the way. As shovels turned dirt today, we were reminded that this building is more than bricks and mortar—it will be a place where lives are changed, the Gospel is preached, families worship together, and future generations come to know Christ.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed, planned, given, and worked to help make this day possible. A special thank you to Jeff Mann, our Winston County Missions Director, for joining us and sharing in this exciting milestone.
