News from Center Ridge:

- Fifty-five enjoyed the fish fry hosted by Pleasant Hill and Center Ridge for our First Responders on Saturday, April 11th. Thanks to all who cooked the fish and all the side dishes. It was all delicious!
- No Fellowship Meal will be held on the third Sunday this month since we ate breakfast together on Easter morning and hosted the fish fry. We will resume the meal on the third Sunday in June.
- Memorial Service will be held on May 3rd beginning at 11:00. Rev. Ricky Bane will bring the message. A potluck lunch will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Please share with others who have ties to Center Ridge.
- We will only meet at Center Ridge on Memorial Sunday (May 3rd) and the 5th Sunday (May 31st). Please visit the other churches in our community for their Memorial Services: Pleasant Hill on May 10th; Whitehall on May 17th; and Rural Hill on May 24th.
- Donations for the upkeep of the cemetery should be mailed to Martha Mills - 1584 Spay Road - McCool, MS 39108
- Thanks to Robin Black for capturing the beautiful picture of the church prior to the Easter Sunrise Service.

Sunday, May 4, 2025 is Memorial Day at Center Ridge Church. Ricky Bane, Pastor. Bro. Mike Dowd will deliver the sermon Sunday. Service at 11:00 AM with food and fellowship following in the Fellowship Hall. Hope to see you there.

It’s Wednesday.

Jesus is still teaching.

It seems as though things are quiet around town. But that isn’t the case.

Plots and schemes are made. The chief priests and the elders devise their plan to arrest Jesus and kill him.

Back in Bethany, in the home of Simon, Jesus is sitting at the table. A woman arrives and pours ointment, perfume, on Jesus’ head.

The disciples are angry. They question why she would waste it by pouring the entirety of it on His head. It could have been sold and the money given to the poor.

Jesus calms them, assuring them that she is doing a beautiful thing, preparing his body for burial, and that wherever the gospel is preached, what she did will also be told in her memory.

Back with the chief priests Judas, a disciple of Jesus, has arrived. Negotiations are made. Judas is desperate, greedy. He agrees to deliver Jesus to the chief priests in exchange for thirty pieces of silver. Betrayal.

It’s Wednesday. But Sunday is coming
