What a day to remember. ❤️
Today, we celebrated 100 years of West Philadelphia Baptist Church. A century of worship, fellowship, Sunday mornings, answered prayers, faithful service, and generations of people who have called this church home.
Our Centennial Homecoming gave us the opportunity to look back at where the Lord has brought us from. We shared old photographs and records, remembered those who came before us, enjoyed special music and a wonderful message, signed squares for a keepsake quilt that will carry memories of this day forward, and, of course, gathered around the table together once the service was over.
To everyone who came home today, whether you are here every Sunday, grew up in this church, have family ties here, or simply came to celebrate with us, thank you. Seeing the sanctuary filled with familiar faces, old friends, former members, families, and new generations made this milestone even more special.
One hundred years ago, a small group of believers began what would become West Philadelphia Baptist Church. They could not have known the names and faces that would fill these pews a century later, but because of their faithfulness, we were here today.
We are grateful for the past, thankful for the present, and prayerful for the generations still to come.
Happy 100th Homecoming, West Philadelphia Baptist Church. Here’s to the next century. ❤️⛪️
