What a beautiful Sunday it was to worship on The Hill! ☀️🙌

No doubt this Outdoor Worship service was one for the books. We kicked things off with a coffee bar, donuts, and incredible music from the praise band, followed by a powerful sermon on prayer from James 5. We also got to celebrate Pastor Tom and his 50 years of service!

The fellowship kept going with a massive potluck picnic and some bingo. But easily the best part of the day was coming together to lay hands on Pastor Aaron - praying over him as we sent him off on sabbatical. We are so blessed by his leadership and excited for his season of rejuvenation with family.

Thank you to everyone who made Sunday so special. We love our church family! ❤️

Today we gather as a church family to remember and give thanks for the life and faith of our dear sister in Christ, Jan Neubert. Jan served faithfully on staff at Shepherd of the Hills for 20 years, and her quiet, steady presence shaped so much of who we are as a congregation. With many traveling for spring break and the full schedule of Holy Week, we want to be sure our entire church family is aware of her funeral arrangements. Her Celebration of Life will be this evening at Shepherd.

View Janet Kay Neubert's obituary, contribute to their memorial, see their funeral service details, and more.

Mark 15:33-37
The Death of Jesus

33 At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. 34 And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).[b]

35 When some of those standing near heard this, they said, “Listen, he’s calling Elijah.”

36 Someone ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to take him down,” he said.

37 With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.

Internet: 0. Pastor Aaron: 1. 🏆

This past Sunday, some pesky internet issues cut our 9:30am livestream, so we tried at 11am and it happened again! We were disappointed, but Pastor Aaron wasn't about to let the message go unheard. Instead of throwing in the towel, he headed back to the alter today to record a fresh version of his sermon just for you!

Here is the YouTube link to view Pastor's "Choose Church" sermon as we wrap up the final week of the Being Challenge series.

Thank you for your understanding. God Bless!
