Thank you, Dolly, for being an example of an empowered woman and including all people in your love.

Dolly once said, "Find out who you are and do it on purpose." These are words that have inspired girls, clergywomen, and dreamers from every walk of life to live into their God-given callings and uniqueness with boldness and resolve. As we grieve the loss of such an inspiration, may we carry with us the kindness, generosity, confidence, and gumption we learned from her.

At GCSRW, we try to make a habit of having good role models. For us, Dolly fit that bill. A person of deep faith, an artist, entrepreneur, humanitarian, advocate, and ally for so many. She spent her life dedicated to lifting others up, which is exactly what we spend every day trying to do.

May you now truly see the light of a clear blue morning and know everything's going to be all right. 💜

"Help Us Accept Each Other" (no. 560 in The United Methodist Hymnal) is a powerful hymn on reconciliation and forgiveness. Rooted in Romans 15:7 — "Receive one another, then, just as Christ also received you, to God's glory" — it calls us to love others "as we find them, or as they may become."

🎵 Help us accept each other
as Christ accepted us;
teach us as sister, brother,
each person to embrace.
Be present, Lord, among us,
and bring us to believe
we are ourselves accepted
and meant to love and live.

The hymn also reflects Ephesians 4:15: “But practicing the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head.”
