On Sunday, June 7th, we will begin a series of messages from the Bible book of 2 Samuel. 2 Samuel chronicles the 40-year reign of King David, detailing his accession to King of Israel, his uniting Israel in worship of Yahweh, his political and military successes, his moral failure, and the devastating family and political consequences that followed, while ultimately establishing the theological promise of an eternal Messianic dynasty.

Beginning June 7th, we will be collecting money for the Baltimore Center for Pregnancy Concerns on the first Sundays of each month from June to August or until we have met or exceeded our goal of $3,750. At present, we have approximately $1,800 toward that goal. The money will be used to help them with their major fund raising event in the fall.

The Greater Baltimore Center for Pregnancy Concerns (CPC) is a local, non-political, non-denominational Christian ministry of hope and life. Their mission is to educate and empower so that women have the freedom to embrace life.

They offer pregnancy testing, viability sonograms, advocacy, and resources that support the choice for life (education, employment, healthcare, housing, addiction recovery, and post-abortive healing, to name a few). They also provide abortion pill reversal to women who change their minds.

Our class on conducting basic research using the book of Colossians will begin Sunday, June 14th at 9:40 AM and will meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. It will involve learning to choose and evaluate commentaries, outlining passages, illustrating points, and applying a passage to everyday life.
By the end of class, you will have a basic outline of 1 or 2 chapters of Colossians, a better understanding in evaluating resources for study, and what is involved in presenting a passage from Scripture.

Class will be limited to 10 people and has a cost of $10 to cover materials which will be donated to the church Library at the end of the class. Each class will be about 60-70 minutes in length with about 15-20 minutes of individual quiet reading followed up with group discussion of the text from the reading to help understand how to present the text in a Bible study format. Classes will be led by Pastor Dave. There will be 12 class meetings in total.

You may want to bring a pad of paper, pen/pencil, and/or laptop/tablet. Our first meeting will be in the church Library.
