ome people wonder if Christians still need the Old Testament. After all, we live under the New Covenant through Jesus Christ.

But Jesus Himself said, “I did not come to destroy the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them.” (Matthew 5:17)

The Old Testament reveals God’s character, the reality of sin, the need for redemption, and the promises that point directly to Christ. It helps us understand why Jesus came and the incredible grace He offers.

Because of Christ, we have been redeemed from the curse of the law. He paid the price we could never pay ourselves. Yet the lessons, wisdom, and promises found in the Old Testament still have much to teach us today.

The entire Bible tells one story: God’s plan to redeem His people through Jesus.

It's easy to trust God when everything is going well.

The real test comes when life falls apart.

This message reminds us that faith isn't just a theory. It has to work in the middle of grief, financial pressure, broken relationships, and every challenge life brings.

Jesus isn't only Lord of the easy seasons. He's greater than every struggle you'll ever face.

And God's promise isn't just that He will meet your needs. It's that He will provide enough for you to become a blessing to others.

If your faith only works in good times, it's not much of a faith. But when it carries you through the hardest moments of life, that's when you discover just how faithful God really is.

What's a season where God proved Himself faithful in your life?

Paul was sitting in prison, yet he refused to see himself as a victim.

Instead of focusing on what was happening TO him, he focused on what God was doing THROUGH it.

That's a powerful lesson for all of us.

Your circumstances may not change overnight. The situation may still be difficult. The challenge may still be real. But your response will determine how that situation shapes you.

When you can see God at work, even in the middle of hardship, it keeps bitterness from taking root and faith begins to grow.

Paul saw prison walls. But he also saw the Gospel advancing.

Sometimes God's greatest work happens in the places we would never choose for ourselves.

Have you ever looked back and seen God working through a difficult season in your life?

Psalm 23 contains one of the most comforting promises in Scripture:

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”

But that promise is connected to something important. The Lord is our Shepherd.

A shepherd leads. Sheep follow.

When we choose to follow Jesus and trust His direction, we can walk with confidence knowing that His goodness and mercy are never far behind. Even in difficult seasons, God remains faithful to guide, provide, and care for His people.

Stay close to the Shepherd today.

What does Psalm 23 mean to you in this season of life?
