Fear grows when we focus on our circumstances. Faith grows when we focus on the Lord.

When trials come, don’t let your circumstances preach to you. Preach God’s truth to yourself. He is the self-existent, self-sustaining Lord who needs nothing. And if you belong to Him, you already have everything you truly need.

What truth from God’s Word do you need to preach to yourself today?

We often think fear will go away when our circumstances change. When the trial ends. When the answer comes. When the pressure lifts. When life feels stable again.

But in Psalm 27, David’s circumstances were still difficult. Enemies were still present. Trouble was still real. The future was still uncertain. Yet David was confident.

Why? Because he began with who the Lord is:

“My light.”
“My salvation.”
“My stronghold.”
- Psalm 27:1

The cure for fear is not better circumstances, but a greater awareness of the Lord. Fix your eyes on Him before you fixate on what you’re facing.

Fear grows when our eyes are fixed on our circumstances instead of our God.

Our natural tendency is to measure the Lord by our trials rather than measuring our trials by the Lord. We look at the size of the problem before we consider the greatness of our God.

Psalm 27 reminds us that confidence doesn’t come from better circumstances—it comes from a greater view of the LORD.

What are you focusing on today: the size of your trial or the greatness of your God?

Happy Father’s Day! We are thankful for the godly fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who faithfully love, lead, and serve their families.

Pastor Johnny preached from Psalm 27, reminding us that no matter what we face, the LORD is our light, our salvation, and our stronghold. Our confidence is not found in our circumstances but in the faithful, covenant-keeping God who invites us to seek His face.

Have a blessed week, and we’ll see you next Sunday!

Many people can avoid certain sins. Many people can stay out of trouble. But the true evidence of genuine faith is not merely what we avoid—it’s what we love.

Do you love God? Do you delight in His presence? Do you love His Word, His people, and His glory?

Psalm 26 reminds us that the strongest evidence of a transformed life is a heart whose affections have been changed by grace. The Christian life is not simply about saying “no” to sin; it’s about saying “yes” to Christ.

May God continue to shape our hearts so that we love what He loves and hate what He hates.

If you’re in a season of waiting, don’t assume God has forgotten you. Some of God’s greatest work happens in the waiting—not around you, but within you. What feels like a delay may actually be His loving preparation.

The temptation is to rush ahead, force an outcome, or look for an easier path. But God’s timing is always wiser than our plans and His purposes are always worth the wait.

Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep obeying. The same God who calls you to wait is the God who promises to be with you while you do. Your waiting is not wasted. God is at work, even when you can’t yet see it.

What a great Sunday at Restoration Church!

We worshiped together, opened God’s Word, and spent time building meaningful relationships. This week we studied Psalm 26 and were reminded that God is our righteous Judge and ultimate vindicator.

One of the best parts of Sunday was seeing so many conversations happening before and after service. We love watching people connect, encourage one another, and grow together as a church family.

See you next week!

Sunday mornings at Restoration Church. 🙌

From the first cup of coffee to the final "see you next week," every Sunday is an opportunity to gather, worship, pray, and sit under God's Word together.

This Sunday, we continue our Summer in the Psalms series as we study Psalm 26 and discover a comforting truth: when we are misunderstood, falsely accused, or struggling to prove ourselves, God is the One who ultimately vindicates His people.

If you're looking for a church home or simply want to learn more about Jesus, we'd love to have you join us.
