Stopping Traffic With Your Hand -

Traffic in Bogotá is crazy. There’s no other way around it. Many roads have no lanes, no rules. As you can see in the picture above, the motorcyclists turn a small 3 lane road into a 5 lane highway! I honestly don’t know how I’ve never seen an accident (yet)!.

I have the privilege of working for Global Training Network, a missions organization dedicated to equipping and encouraging indigenous pastors in the Majority World with gospel doctrine, character, and pastoral skills. This was my 6th trip to Bogotá, Colombia and the first as the Team Lead. These pastors, wives, and church leaders inspire me and challenge me with their hunger to know God, His Word, and how to shepherd His people.

To say that our time together over the last 10 days was exceedingly rich would be an understatement. We encountered God's majesty together and we all left changed. I thank God for these servants. Pray for them. I can't wait to go back in November!

A New Cycle of Training Begins -

On Monday, August 5th, I will begin my 5th international training trip of the year back to Bogotá (accompanied by Greg Hodson). This trip is special for a few reasons.

We leave for Italy this week to serve SMGI.org and the work of church planting in Europe. We are looking forward to both benefiting from and contributing to this ministry that has become dear to us in recent years.

In 2023, we were able to provide three training events for pastors and leaders in Bogota, Colombia. Pictures can't tell the full story of the hunger and zeal these new friends have to grow in their knowledge of the Word and pastoral skill. It's been a joy to be a part of their lives this year and we are asking God to open the doors for more in 2024.
