This is a comment from a Veteran that I love very much, my Dad Richard Peters who made this statement in a video recognizing the veterans of the Korean War. For me, it stands as a truism regarding all of our conflicts for which our sons and daughters gave their lives for something bigger than themselves. Remember what this weekend is really about, PLEASE!

We know that the eternal battel was enjoined a long time ago, And while the Sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and His rising on the third day won the war, until He returns, there are battles every day that we need to fight.
So armor up and fight with the Word of God through prayer!

"Rise Up Prayer Warriors" is a powerful worship battle anthem calling believers of this generation to unite in prayer, stand in faith, and wage spiritual war...

Trees by Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Why do I share this special poem today? I have loved this poem for most of my life. Joyce Kilmer was killed in 1918 in WWI by a sniper’s bullet, but not before leaving history with these precious words.

These words for me are made even more meaningful now because of the last line; “But only God can make a tree”. It is that Creator God, Jesus Christ who so many centuries ago at sunrise tomorrow, the third day stepped from the grave and back into life, assuring all of humanity of our ability, should we chose, to have life everlasting with our Creator and Savior! After all, only God can make a human!

Very poignant for this Resurrection weekend.
This is one of the greatest presentations of the Gospel I have ever heard. This was Secretary of State at Charlie Kirk's Memorial;
And I would say that taking the liberty, but I'm confident he would agree. One of the things he wants us to take away from this, from all of this, is the following. His deep belief that we were all created, every single one of us, before the beginning of time, by the hands of the God of the universe, an all powerful God who loved us and created us for the purpose of living with him in eternity. But then sin entered the world and separated us from our creator. And so God took on the form of a man and came down and lived among us. And he suffered like men and he died like a man. But on the third day he rose unlike any mortal man.
And then and to prove any doubters wrong, he ate with his disciples so they could see and they touched his wounds. He didn't rise as a ghost or as a spirit, but as flesh.
And then he rose to the heaven. But he promised he would return and he will.
And when he returns, because he took on that death because he carried that cross, we were freed from the sin that separated us from him. And when he returns, there will be a new heaven and a new earth. And we will all be together. And we are going to have a great reunion there again with Charlie and all the people we love. Thank you and God bless you.

Just think, So many centuries ago, the Promise of Jesus appeared to have died on the cross. Beaten, scourged, humiliated. His earthly body gave up. Matthew 27:50
“And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.”
His followers were heart broken, His family distraught, and His Apostles in hiding. His body had been placed in the tomb; Matthew 27:59-61… “When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed. 61 And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.”

Yet this was not the end of God’s plan for humanity, it was a short moment of time before Jesus would break the bonds of death and walk free from the tomb on that incredible resurrection day. Matthew 28:1-7
Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. 5 But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”

And we all say? HE IS RISEN!

Have you ever wondered, or just haven’t remembered what Jesus was doing this week, nearly 2,000 years ago? John the Apostle tells us in John chapter 12: 1-8

“Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. 2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. 3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.
4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would betray Him, said, 5 "Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?" 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.
7 But Jesus said, "Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial. 8 For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always."”
NKJV

Jesus who knew what the next days would bring, wanted to spend some quiet time with his dear friends Lazarus, Martha, and Mary. Maybe this might be a good time to also spend some quiet time with Jesus and reflect on the truly eternal moment that was about to happen for yourself and all of humanity.

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
