In Ecclesiastes chapter three, verse 11, it says, “God has planted eternity in the human heart.” In other words, God has planted eternity in your heart. Even if you’re an atheist or an agnostic … Even if right now you feel far from God … You’d have to admit that you don’t want to die. You have within you a desire to live forever … A desire to connect to something or someone that is bigger than yourself. You have a longing for heaven. You have a longing for something that’s more than just this world. This longing comes from your soul, because your soul is the spiritual part of you and it lasts forever. That’s why we have to take care of it. This week we’re going to kick off our Soul-Care teaching series with the message “Strengthening My Soul.” Six biblical disciplines that will not only make your soul stronger, but they will help lessen the soul eroding effects of modern-day life and technology. If you practice these disciplines regularly, they will strengthen and energize your soul. They’ll make you feel alive.
